Chapter 6
Third person's pov
Liam paced around the training room as he awaited his guards who were out in search of Rowena, the only daughter of the former Alpha.
"Did you find her?" He asked as soon as Ethan, the chief head guard walked into the training room.
"I'm sorry, Liam, we couldn't get a hold of her. She was faster than we had imagined." Ethan mumbled, his head bowed showing his regret.
"How could a mere woman be faster than you?" Liam, out of annoyance, threw a punch at Ethan. The sound of the crunch from Ethan's nose resounded in the training room.
"I'm sorry, Liam, we must have underestimated her." Ethan apologized.
"I don’t care about your apologies!” He bellowed. “I want you to find her. I don't mind if she's dead or alive, I just need to be sure of her fate.” He growled and Ethan bowed his head as he nodded quickly. An attempt to rescue his neck from being broken.
"I will do my best, Liam. We won't rest until we find her." He promised.
"She wouldn't have gone that far,” He sighed. “Ask around the neighboring packs, send spies if you have to. Just make sure you give me something."
"Of course," Ethan replied. With a slight bow to Liam, he was dismissed along with his guards.
Outside the training room, Ethan turned and began to address his warriors.
"The Alpha won't spare our head if we don't provide Rowena" he stated. The courtyard was filled with silence. They knew who the real Alpha was, but having no choice and having to risk their head, they decided to remain silent and follow orders.
"I want y'all to keep your eyes and ears. We need to know the whereabouts of Carrie Whitlock before the Alpha requests for the information" he advised, he walked in circles as he spoke, his mind determined to do as he was ordered.
"Dismiss" he commanded and the crowd dispersed.
Meanwhile, as Ethan left Liam in the training room, Aaliyah who since the incident had been trying to get her man decided it was time she spoke with him.
"Liam, come on, haven't you done enough training for the day?" She questioned.
"No, this isn't over yet. I need to be ready, I never know what might occur" Liam responded, his fists hitting the punching bags as he imagined it was the face of Rowena, the mate who he had just betrayed.
"Oh, my God, Liam, Rowena can't and won't do anything. I mean look around, the whole pack is on our side" Aaliyah said exasperatedly.
"Just because they are on our side doesn't mean she won't strike back," Liam retorted. His mind wasn't at peace despite thinking if he and his father had gotten rid of Rowena and her family that they could have everything, but a little part of him felt guilty but still he needed to get what he wanted.
“I thought once we get rid of Rowena and her family you and I can finally be together,” Aaliyah complained bitterly. It was as if no matter what she did, there was still this space between them.
Some weeks ago, when the former Alpha was still alive, Aaliyah and Liam would always hide to be together and when Liam had brought up his plans, Aaliyah had supported him wholeheartedly but his indifference towards her was beginning to get to her, Liam no longer does the stuff he did with her anymore.
“Well, aren’t we together?!” Liam exclaimed, his frustration oozing out from his tone which set Aaliyah up.
“You know what I mean, Liam!” She cut back, forgetting to maintain her soft tone with him.
“Look, I am trying to make things work out in this pack.” He ran his fingers through his hair as he pulled harshly.
“Just give me a break let me think some things through, okay” his tone softened and Aaliyah sighed. She was still in denial despite the obvious sign that Liam was not yet over in love with Rowena, she chose to believe that his love for her was greater than what he had for Rowena.
“Fine then, I will let you catch a break, but I will be back soon,” she said then stormed out of the training room.
Out in the hall, her mind in chaos, Aaliyah stumbled on Ethan who was addressing the warriors.
“Ethan,” she called out. Ethan, upon hearing his name, turned in the direction.
“A word please,” she said. Ethan dismissed the group of warriors standing next to him as he walked towards Aaliyah.
“I heard you are still in search of Rowena.” she began as Ethan approached her.
“Um, yeah,” He answered, unsure if his response was one that could get him in trouble or not.
“Well, I need every bit of information regarding her whereabouts. Any information you have about Rowena should be passed on to me, as instructed by Luca.” She informed.
“Of course,” Ethan replied curtly.
Aaliyah left the hall with a huge smile on her face. To her, everything was going as perfectly as it was planned, but unknown to her she was about to receive the greatest shock she has ever received.

Liam sat on his chair, his head going back and forth at the possibility of Rowena’s hideout. He already sent words out to the neighboring pack informing them about her disappearance but none gave them the response he wanted.
Where could Rowena be? That was a question that lingered at the back of his mind. If he puts an end to her, then he could finally come to rest and accept the fact that the end of the Wilson line has gone into extinction.
“Son!” Luca, the former Beta to Alpha Alfredo called out as he stepped into the office. Liam was so deep into his thoughts that he didn’t notice when his door was opened.
“Father.” Liam said then rose from his seat as he gave his father a greeting.
“I heard you still haven’t found the girl?” Luca asked.
“No, I haven’t, father,” Liam replied.
“I didn’t train you to be this slow and stupid. Act like the Alpha that you are going to be. The Alpha I’ve trained you to become. Do not let everything I’ve worked hard for go in vain, I need that girl to be ended as soon as possible” he growled, his eyes changing into a red glow as he fought to keep his anger in check before he held his son’s jaw whose annoyance was growing gradually in him.
