Rippers are another category of vampires, and they are mostly rare. It is the moment where a vampire looses control over his or her control of thirst for blood, and kill's anything and everything, with a heart that pumps blood. Ripper mode gives vampires more strength and speed as long as they feed on blood. And different vampires, has different ways of getting rid of it. Some vampires has to be chained in a place till blood is nearly drained out of their system, some just have to see the people they love, which is very very rare, while others have to drink to their fullest and then faint, before they get back to their normal senses. In Nicklaus's situation, he has to drink till he's full, which is almost impossible. The last time he switched to ripper mode, he murdered an entire village, with witches, werewolves and other vampires in it. Robert ran helter skelter, from one dungeon to another, trying to gather more prisoners. In a haste, he rushed all of them to the study, but to his utmost surprise, Nicklaus was nowhere to be found. Robert's heart dropped down to his stomach and he yelled "Nicklaus!" but he received no response. From one room to another he searched and searched until finally, he stood in front of the room, Tiana was in. Slowly and quietly, he placed his hand on the doorknob and twisted it, earning a click sound. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath, trying to brace himself for what he might see in the room. He pushed the door open, and the sight he saw, almost knocked him off his feet. He was expecting to see the girl's head detached from her body, but what he saw was completely different. There Nicklaus was laying on the bed, with the girl beside him. The girl beside him! A girl and Nicklaus sharing a bed?!? What was even more astonishing was that they were in an embrace. A freaking embrace! Never in his life has his mind ever drifted to imagining Nicklaus embracing a freaking woman! His jaw flew open as he watched them. Nicklaus looked so calm and gentle, unlike how he was few seconds ago. His eyes were closed and his jaw had returned to normal. "What the heck happened?" Robert whispered. He frown his brows as he quietly made his way towards them. He examined their position, and was still left dumbstruck. How can an original, who was in ripper mode a while ago, be sleeping, beside a girl, soundly, without an attempt to tear her apart. The whole image in front of him was disturbing, because never has he witness something like that. Never. And for it to happen to a strong original like, Nicklaus, there must be something attached to it. His gaze left Nicklaus and went to Tiana. He listened closely to her light snores, trying to detect some kind of vibe, but he couldn't detect anything. He has been with Nicklaus for almost half a century, and he has picked up from Nicklaus, that different creatures has different ways of breathing. A werewolf breath like it's snarling, a witch exhales twice, before inhaling, a vampire sleeps soundly, like the humans, while the mermaids breath heavily. Again, he listened to her breathing, and this time, he made his senses keen. After a while, he frowned more and recalled Nicklaus's question. 'Have you ever tasted a mermaid's blood?' Robert stared at the girl on the bed with seriousness as he pounder on the question How can a mermaid, remove a vampire, out of ripper mode? "Mm" he hummed as he left her side to pick up Nicklaus from the other side of the bed. With Nicklaus on his shoulders, he left the room, and took Nicklaus to another room, opposite it. After tucking him, Robert made the fireplace to keep him warm, before exciting to a big library. That night, he studied and studied till the next morning. "Doing our research, are we?" Robert, who was in a deep sleep, face down on a desk, suddenly heard a sarcastic question. He sluggishly raised his head, not looking at the direction the voice came from. "Morning" he greeted. "What's the research about?" Nicklaus questioned, but he received no response from Robert, who was staring at him. "How do you feel?" Robert asked after few seconds of silence. "How am I supposed to feel?" Nicklaus replied, raising an eyebrow. He sat on the a sofa opposite Robert, with a cup of tea in his hand. "Did you remember anything from last night?" "Am I supposed to?" "Yes" "What am I to remember?" "The girl" "What about the girl?" "She's a sea creature" "I'm aware of that" They remained silent, both of them having something to say, but none spoke first. "You lost control" Robert finally said. "How many died?" Nicklaus asked with zero warmth. "Very few" Robert responded. "Why?" "You're to tell me" "I don't recall" "What do you recall?" "The pearl glowing" "Nothing more?" "Mm" They became silent again, deep in thought. They both knew something was very weird and wrong. They are both ninety percent sure the girl is a mermaid, and they are also ten percent sure she's a different creature, because the thing they know as nature, is beginning to have loopholes. For starters, how can a girl with that kind of stature, tame a ripper? An original for that matter. And the fact that Nicklaus couldn't recall anymore event after the glowing pearl, was very very bizarre. Knock knock They were both interrupted by a knock on the door. "Come in" Robert said and a young girl, who was dressed in a servant's uniform, walked in with her head bowed. "What is it?" Nicklaus asked. "S-sire. T-the girl h-has a-awoken" the girl informed, with fright. Robert and Nicklaus exchanged a look before leaving to go meet the girl that leaves them in disbelief.
