The Visitation

"Well, I got to understand her. She is a sweet person, you know? She was just lonely and had no friends back then so I decided to step in. . . . Alpha Veer didn't allow her to go outside the pack house back. He was overprotective of her. So she did not have any friends except for her sisters and when they got mated to their mates, she got very lonely. So I decided to step in as I said earlier. It seemed to me like that was why the Alpha made me her personal omega," she explained slowly as she reduced the pace of her walk. "Hmmm, I never knew of that," Brawn said. "You see, Au is actually a nice person. She is just careful of whom she lets into her space. She doesn't let anyone get too close to her because she is scared of being hurt. So she builds walls around her by being rude to people who try to become her friend. Especially if she is beginning to see that she is getting along with the person. If the person could get beyond that wall, the person would see her sweet side. I broke that wall, that's how she changed towards me." she explained further. "So from what I can deduce from what you said, she is being rude to me because she getting along with me?" Brawn said eyeing Sparkle. "I'm not saying that but I know she does not hate you. . . . That I am sure of," Sparkle said calmly. Brawn sighed and said, "I guess I still have more suffering days ahead of me." "Ha Ha Ha . . ." Sparkle laughed a little and said, "It all depends on how you view it. You see it as suffering, I saw it as an opportunity to get closer to her." He nodded and gave what she said, some thoughts. He said, "You really need to give me some tips on how I can make her change towards me." Sparkle shuddered and said, "I don't have any tip though. All I can say is that it requires understanding and patience . . ." She placed her right hand on her forehead and closed her eyes a little like she was trying to remember something. She opened her eyes suddenly and said, "And while you are at it, don't look directly into her eyes for a long time. If you can do these, then you are good to go. You can take glances but do not stare," Sparkle added. "I know that already. Omegas are not allowed to look dignitaries in the eyes –omegas etiquette," Brawn stated in a boring voice. "True but staring into her eyes is somewhat different. It makes her feel you have gotten too familiar with her and you know what that attracts –more rudeness," Sparkle clarified. Brawn placed his right fingers on his chin as he assimilated everything Sparkle told him. He was a bit happy that he could make Au treat him better than she did. His hopes of making Au like him had increased and even though it seemed foolish to him, he still wanted to attempt to make Au fall in love with him. He let himself drift into a reverie and there was some silence as they approached the pack house. When they got into the pack house, they waved to each other as they went their separate ways. Brawn headed to the omegas quarter while Sparkle went into the pack building. When Sparkle got into the room, she met Au sitting in front of the mirror and staring at her reflection. Her face was dull and she appeared to be a bit gloomy. Sparkle who came with an elevated spirit from the chat with Brawn, asked Au as she prepared to take her bath, "What is the matter, ma'am? You look . . ." she paused and examined Au's face to get the right words and added, "downhearted! What happened?" Au turned to Sparkle slowly and turned back to the mirror as if she wanted to confirm Sparkle's observation. "I look dejected, right?" Au asked still staring at the mirror. "Terribly!" Sparkle replied moving towards Au and staring at her. "You know I was sent for by the Alpha today at work, right?" Au turned to Sparkle and asked. Sparkle became confused. Au was the one who told her and placed the factory under her care before leaving. She was surprised Au was asking if she knew that the Alpha called her. "Of course, ma'am. You told me that he wanted you to meet his visitors. Why are you asking me all these? You are beginning to scare me. Did he ask you to do something that you don't want to?" Sparkle said anxiously. She was not enjoying the whole atmosphere. "He did not ask me to do anything against my will –" "Then what happened? Please tell me already, ma'am! The suspense is getting unbearable," Sparkle interrupted. Au started in a sad tone "Those his visitors . . ." "Okay?" "They were Alpha's of four different powerful packs . . ." "Okay? They wanted you as a mate?" "Come on! No! They are about my brother's age," Au said in dismissal. "Oh, I didn't know that. So what were they here for and why did the Alpha need you there with him?" "They came to inform the Alpha that their heirs are coming to check their compatibility with me in a few months. The Alpha called me to show me off to them so they could see who their heirs might get mated to," Au said. "Wow! That's good news!" Sparkle exclaimed in excitement. She clapped her hands as she spoke. Her face elated and her lips broke into a huge grin as she said, 'Is that why you are all gloomy? I thought someone was killed or something happened to your sisters in other packs. You should be happy! This is what you have always been waiting for! You will be making your first shift soon and also getting." "I know. I am supposed to be happy, right?" Au said as she lifted her eyes to Sparkle. "Yes, of course! You have always wanted this, remember?" Sparkle said as she pulled a stool and sat beside Au. "I don't know. I don't just feel happy. I can't just explain it. I feel like . . . I might not like them or something," Au said in a worried tone. Her eyes were sad. Sparkle held her hands and said, "Ma'am, in the history of this pack, the lunar goddess has never given one a mate that one hates. I can assure you that you are worried and worked up because you are nervous . . ." she stood up and pulled Au up with her as she added, " . . . which is alright because it is something big." "You think so?" "I know so, ma'am." "I will leave this place and everyone here. I feel like I am going to miss everyone." "At least, your brother would not be making decisions for you over there. Also, I am going with you to your new pack, right, ma'am?" Sparkle asked wrapping her palms around Au's. "Of course you are! I am not going anywhere without you. You are my best friend," Au said and Sparkle smiled. "Then, you won't be missing a lot of people here, ma'am. Since I am going with you," Sparkle said smiling again. "I will miss the omegas though," Au said. By "the omegas", she meant Brawn. She did not want to tell Sparkle that she had feelings for Brawn because she was working hard to kill it –though her efforts were futile. "Anyway, I should be concerned about you more. Your omega friends, you will miss them," Au added. "Well, I will miss them but I will have to move on. Besides, I don't have much friends and I will also be taking everything I need to make me comfortable over there," Sparkle said. By "everything", she meant Brawn. She had the intention of making Au carry Brawn along with her when the time came. "Anyway, I am happy for you," she added. "Thank you," Au said and looked at the mirror, trying to cheer herself up.
