Brawn and Nathan returned to the pack house after they had finished with the distribution. Brawn did not feel much of the impact of the large delivery they did because they chatted all through the delivery. They talked about each other's childhood, the mischievous stunts they pulled when they were little, risks taken and fun stuff they had done while growing up. Each of them had experiences the other could relate to. Although Brawn had been called a thief and a lapdog earlier that morning, he felt his day was getting better.

Brawn went in to prepare some portion with the little herbs he had gathered with Nathan on their way back. During their conversation, Nathan had complained that his daughter vomited that morning so Brawn offered to help since he was raised in the hospital. He had some knowledge about illnesses and herbs.

He finished preparing the herbal mixture and took it to meet Nathan who was waiting with his mate and his daughter. On getting there, he saw Sparkle leaving them.

"Here it is. Let her drink this," he said as he handed the herbal mixture over to Nathan's mate who was housing a warm smile on her face. She made her daughter drink the mixture and her daughter's face wrinkled from the bitter taste of the herbal mixture.

"Did she vomit again when we were gone?" Brawn asked Nathan's mate.

"Yes but only once," she replied.

"Don't worry, she will be fine after she takes this. But if the vomiting continues then you would have to take her to the hospital," Brawn advised.

"Whatever you say "Salutary" . . . Thank you very much Raw, I really appreciate this," Nathan said in appreciation. He pecked his daughter on her forehead and pecked his mate on her left cheek as he stood up to leave with Brawn. Nathan's mate also thanked Brawn as he left with Nathan.

"I didn't say it was free. You will be paying me ten pieces of silver for the herbs and consultation." Brawn said in a joking tone to Nathan as they left.

Nathan replied, "You will have to take them back because I could get them free at the hospital," and they both laughed.

After some moments of walking in silence, Brawn asked Nathan, "That was Sparkle I saw leaving while I was approaching, right?"

"Yes, you are right," Nathan said, affirming with a nod.

"Why does she stay in the pack house? I know she is an omega. Even the head omega sleeps in the omegas' quarters. So why is hers different?" Brawn asked.

"Once again, you are right. She is an omega but Au's personal omega. That is why she is always with Au and also sleeps in Au's room," Nathan answered.

"But the head omega is the Alpha's personal omega and he still stays with us in the omega's quarters. Like I asked earlier, why is hers different?"

"Au takes Sparkle as a sister and she is also Au's personal assistant in her workplace. Au was the one who insisted Sparkle should be sleeping in her room," Nathan explained further.

"Taking about Au . . . " Brawn said but paused and looked to his left and to his right to see if anyone was around them. He leaned closer to Nathan and said in a low voice, "Why is she so rude?"

Nathan stared at Brawn like it was the first time he was hearing that Au was rude. He said, "She has never been rude to me before. Is she rude to you?"

"Well, she has been so rude to me. In fact, she called me a thief this morning," Brawn said with bitterness.

"A thief? Why did she?" Nathan asked with elements of surprise on his face.

"I found her earring on the floor while sweeping but she insisted that I had the intention of selling it," Brawn explained.

"That's strange. The Au that I know is a sweet lady –"

"Well, that's to you . . . Although, the first time I met her it was when I bumped into Sparkle by mistake which made her very angry," Brawn said.

"That must be it. It is possible that she doesn't like you because of that single bump," Nathan suggested.

Brawn pondered on what Nathan said.

"Maybe you should try to get her to trust and like you. Au is a very sweet lady, trust me. Just try to get on her good side," Nathan advised.

Brawn nodded and said," I will try my best." He then said, "Also, I heard she hasn't made her first shift."

Nathan nodded in agreement.

"Do you have any idea why?"

"Not an idea."

"How come she is allowed to lead a business even though she has not made her first shift?"

Nathan stared at Brawn in surprise and said, "Are you seriously asking this? She is Alpha Veer's sister! She has some certain privileges."

Brawn held his forehead and said, "Oh! That is true. I almost forgot."

Brawn stayed with Nathan for the rest of the day. He chatted with the other omegas who were friends with Nathan. They did not have much to do that day. In the night, the head omega dismissed the omegas when the Alpha and his family had gone to bed and there were no more pending chores to be attended to. Brawn bade them good night and went into his room.

He sat on his bed and thought about the fact that he had a member of his family around him but he could not reveal himself to him. He remembered what Nathan told him that the Alpha did to the adult members of the Brio family and felt a lot of anger rush through his mind. Nathan appeared to have faith that if the pup of Alpha Flare was alive, the Alpha would pay for his atrocities. But he was the pup of Alpha Flare and could not do anything to the Alpha. He was powerless and trying to hide his identity in order to preserve his life.

As different thoughts and memories came to his head, he brushed his right palm over his face and moved his palm down to his hair. He removed the band on his hair and kept it on the table. He took a pen from the table and jotted how he felt on a paper, just like he did when he was at the hospital. He summarised it into four sentences, pasted it on the wall and lay on his bed to sleep. It read:

The heart wins the brain to nothing.

Blank stare through thought-filled eyes.

In a moment erred,

In a lifetime forgiven.

Morning came and the wind was gentle and cool as it blew against Au's cheek from the window beside her bed. She gently opened her eyes and saw Sparkle arranging some clothes in the room She sat on her bed and Sparkle noticed she was awake.

"You are finally awake. I tried to wake you up earlier for breakfast but you refused to wake up. You just kept smiling in your sleep. You must have had a very beautiful dream. Do you mind sharing it with me, ma'am?" Sparkle said smiling as she kept arranging the clothes.

"I was smiling in my sleep?" Au asked looking surprised.

"Like a lady who just found her mate. Yes, ma'am, you were smiling in your sleep," Sparkle chuckled as she said. She placed the cloth she was folding on a pile of folded cloths.

Au looked outside the window and noticed that the sun was already out. She held her forehead and said, "I woke up really late. Didn't the Alpha send for me when they were having their breakfast?"

"That was exactly when I came to wake you up. When I told him that you were asleep and you did not wake up after I tried to wake you up, he instructed me to leave you to sleep, saying that you must have been tired from work," Sparkle explained as she move the heap of folded clothes to Au's wardrobe.

"Oh, I see," Au said yawning.

Sparkle looked at her and asked again smiling, "So are you going to tell me about this dream that made you smile from your dream?"

"Oh, it is nothing. I just dreamt about my sisters and work. That's all. I wonder why I was smiling from my sleep," Au gabbled as though she had memorized it earlier.

Sparkle stared at her and Au could not hold her gaze.

"Why are you looking at me like that? It is so uncomfortable," Au said looking away from Sparkle nervously.

"That is because I know you actually have not told me the exact dream you dreamt, ma'am," Sparkle inferred. She knew Au pretty well.

"That is what I dreamt. You weren't in it so how could you be so sure? I have told you my dream," Au said, standing up from her bed. She said as she walked past Sparkle, "I am going to have my bath and freshen up. If you have another dream that you know that I dreamt, you can tell me when I am out of the bathroom." After saying this, she disappeared into the bathroom.

Au knew she lied about her dream. She had seen Brawn in her dream and they were cuddling. He was saying nice things to her and pecking her all over her body. That was what made her smile in her sleep. Her concern was that she enjoyed every moment of the dream while was not supposed to. She did not tell Sparkle about her dream because she did not want Sparkle to know that she had such a dream.
