Late to love
Today marked the commencement of my collegiate journey, an adventure tinged with apprehension and excitement. Asta Silva, an embodiment of spontaneity and vibrancy, found herself enrolling in Stanford University's prestigious Bachelor's program for Computer Science. Despite her initial reservations, fate's capricious hand led her here, to the realm of mathematics—an academic domain she approached with trepidation yet resolved to conquer.
The day's unfolding events seemed to conspire against Asta, setting the stage for a series of fortuitous encounters and unforeseen emotions. In her haste, she missed her scheduled bus, prompting a frantic dash to secure an Uber ride. Despite her efforts, tardiness persisted as an unwelcome companion, casting a shadow over her hurried ascent to the classroom nestled on the first floor.
Breathless and disheveled, Asta entered the room, seeking permission from the professor to join the unfolding lesson. "May I come in, professor?" she inquired, attempting to regain composure amidst the flurry of emotions coursing through her.
"Of course, please do," came the professor's reassuring reply, ushering Asta towards an unoccupied seat.
Grateful for the professor's acquiescence, Asta stole a moment to collect her thoughts, her gaze wandering momentarily before settling upon him—Professor Frank Reed. In that fleeting instant, her world shifted, and her heart stirred with an unfamiliar fervor. Professor Reed stood before the class, a figure of commanding presence, his voice a symphony of intellect and grace that resonated within Asta's soul.
As the lecture commenced, Asta struggled to maintain composure, her senses overwhelmed by the magnetic allure of her professor. Fumbling for her iPad, she endeavored to focus on the lesson at hand, all the while ensnared by the enigmatic charm of Professor Reed.
The customary round of introductions followed, each student offering a brief glimpse into their aspirations and dreams. Asta, her nerves tingling with anticipation, seized the opportunity to introduce herself before retreating into the sanctuary of her seat. Throughout the proceedings, her gaze remained steadfastly fixed upon Professor Reed, his every word igniting a spark within her heart.
With a gentle smile, Professor Reed finally introduced himself, his name rolling off his tongue with an effortless elegance that left Asta enraptured. "I'm Frank Reed, and I'll be your Mathematics professor for this semester," he announced, his words imbued with a warmth that enveloped the room.
In that transcendent moment, time seemed to stand still, the boundaries of reality melting away as Asta and Professor Reed shared a fleeting connection. It was as though the universe had conspired to unite them, weaving together the threads of fate in a tapestry of unexpected chemistry.
As the lecture progressed, Asta found herself drawn deeper into Professor Reed's orbit, her thoughts consumed by the promise of what lay ahead. In the midst of academia's hallowed halls, amidst the complexities of love and learning, Asta's journey had only just begun.
