After paying for my stuff, I took the bag to leave. As I exited the supermarket turning to my left to walk back the path I took to get here, my face is smashed into something hard. I hiss in pain and before I fell to the ground I’m caught by my waist and arm.
“ I’m sor-“ I heard a male voice start but it was cut off with a loud pitch one.
“Why are you apologizing, she should’ve watched where she was going. Let go off my boyfriend.” She said before reaching to pull his arm away from my waist, he reacted quickly, shifting me away to the other side from her still holding me.
“I was the one who should’ve watched where I’m going.” His gaze slowly peeled away from her to me and as soon as our eyes locked there was something about him, I feel like there’s a connection between us.
“ I’m sorry.” He whispered. This connection, it’s not strong like my parents say the mate bond would be so it can’t be.
Slowly I came to realize his hands are on my waist, there’s a slight tingling feeling. I snapped out of my daze looking at his yapping girlfriend and back to him. I abruptly pulled away from him walking off to the path that i took to get here.
“ it can’t be” I muttered to myself clutching the bag to my chest the coldness from the ice cream cooling the heat in my body temperature.
“Wait, what’s your name.”I heard the male voice shouted so I quicken my pace.
“ evon, I am right here and you’re asking for her name. Have some respect.” The girl huffed.
‘his name is evon’ I thought to myself. I did’nt look back nor slow my pace down until i see the pack house came into view.
As i got to my room i went to take a quick shower as the sun was so hot and my skin was sweaty.
That shower was well needed. I felt refresh and ready to be on my movie marathon.
I plopped a spoon of ice cream into my mouth as i search through Netflix for a movie when the famous show my mom and dad always quote popped up.I decided i’m going to watch an episode to see if I’ll like it. The incident from earlier replaying in my head.
Back at lenora’s house
Lenora’s POV
“But mom, how did she get your number to text you.” I asked
“She does’nt. The messages were forwarded to me from someone, they said they received it from an unknown number.”
“Do you know the person.” I asked in hope but she only shook her head.
”no.”
“Ohh. So that means we have to wait until she contact us” i said when an idea popped up in my head.
“Or we can track that person down. that way we’ll get to communicate to her directly.”
“We can. Or maybe we can wait until she make contact again .” Wyatt said squeezing my shoulder softly.
“ wait?. So that she has the upper hand. she already found people to contact my mom directly who’s to say she wouldn’t know where she lives already and where she works.” I explained walking over to sit on the sofa.
“ we need to find that person so that when she contacts again we’re the one she gets to speak to directly. we can’t just stay and do nothing and especially not running away but we can’t just go in blindly, we must have back up.”
“Where would we have back up from.”
My mom chimes in.
“ I’ll give my mom a call see what she can do” Wyatt sighed defeated.
“ okay then. we should get some rest.”
We ate dinner, relax a bit before checking in on our children then went to sleep.
Waking up hearing the familiar chirping of birds as the sun rose.I got out of bed checking the time and it’s past nine, finding it a little weird because I would’ve been at work by now. I don’t know how long we’d be staying here for but we’ll see.
I went to do my morning routine before going out to make breakfast only it’s already been made.
“ oh, I’m late.” I said to both Wyatt and my mom while trying to taking a bacon and he slapped my hand away.
“ have you brushed your mouth?.” He asked and I frowned before a mischievous smile make it’s way to my lips.
I went close enough and blew my breath in his face li.ck the ketchup from the side of his mouth and peck him on the cheeks.
My mom was laughing before saying. “Wyatt I can see you’re used to this.”
He nodded with a little smile before taking a sip of his juice.
“ though I have to say this is the first in how many years.”
He looks at me and I can see the sadness in his eyes, the longing. I realized dealing with normal eight to four and his nine to five, sometimes nine to eight job took away our attention from each other. even on weekends we found it hard to even spend time together.
Our children must be so disappointed in us because they too got comfortable with not needing us, well not Andel but Yolanda. She doesn’t speak to us about anything, just, if she needs money for something. Whenever I try talking to her she would give me some vague answer or tell me to ask Andel.
I hate that she feels like she can’t talk to me or her father. She rather sneak off to the back of the house to be by herself, It’s like we’ve failed her. it goes to show you can never do everything right in life, you always lack something.
“ I’m sorry, I promise, once this is over we’ll take a couple days for ourselves and the kids before we go back.” I promised him and he nodded. Taking his hands in mine giving it a little squeeze. His face visibly relax as he smile. I missed that relaxed look on his face.
We finished eating breakfast and I went outside to help my mom with her garden in the back while Wyatt did the flowers at the front yard. My mom sat in her basket patio chair in the cool shade that was created by the house while sipping on her orange juice.
“When you’re done taking out the we.eds their are some oranges and strawberries that need to be picked also but take a rest before you do that” she said.
I shook my head. “ I’ll do it all. If I stop to rest I’m afraid I wouldn’t get back up.” We both laughed
“ okay, then let me get you some cold juice. The sun is extremely hot today.”
“ chilled water would do.”
“ alright.”
She went to get the water, on her way in I heard her asked Wyatt if he wanted her to get him some as well.
She came back and hand me the water. Just before I get to finish drinking the water I heard a vehicle as if it’s slowing down closer to the house before pulling in.
