Things changed after the battle with the One.
Zeev changed.
He was always very close to me because of our shared soul. Closer than the others even, but I think something about the incident changed something in him. I asked him about it once, and all he said was that he never knew how deeply I felt. I wasn’t sure how. Wasn’t he always in my head?
Beyond that, he had his Angel status back. It changed so many things about his personality. He was less gloomy and happier. He sang more, and I did love his voice. We went places and stopped hiding so much from the Demonic and Divine. And we stopped running. But then again, most of the Angels and Demons agreed it had a good deal to do with the death of the One.
