The awareness that something was wrong snapped through me like electricity. It wasn’t an active thought, it was more like a lack of thought from her. Everything froze, inside and out of me, and then the blast of pain, the feeling of her soul being drawn from her as her body slowly died, and I was moving before I was even aware of it.
“Harlee!” I heard Ash screaming as I flew. When had I changed Forms? It didn’t matter, I had to get to her, and I would be there instantly.
