Chapter 6: The Aftermath

534 Words
Mia wakes up with a smile on her face, still basking in the afterglow of her dance with Ethan. She can't believe how happy she feels, how free and alive. She spends the morning in bed, replaying the events of the night before over and over in her head. As she finally gets up and starts her day, she can't help but feel a twinge of worry in the pit of her stomach. What if last night was just a fluke? What if Ethan was just caught up in the moment and didn't really feel the same way she did? Her thoughts are interrupted by a knock at the door. It's Jane, one of the production assistants. "Hey Mia, we need you on set in 30 minutes," Jane says. Mia nods, grabbing her script and heading out the door. As she makes her way to the set, Mia can't help but feel nervous. She knows she'll see Ethan again today, and she doesn't know what to expect. Will he act the same way he did last night, or will he go back to his usual charming but distant self? When she arrives on set, Ethan is already there, chatting with Marissa and Brian. Mia takes a deep breath and approaches them. "Good morning," she says, trying to sound casual. "Hey there, Mia," Ethan says, smiling warmly. Mia feels a surge of hope at the sight of his smile. Maybe last night wasn't just a fluke after all. As they prepare to start filming, Mia notices that Ethan keeps stealing glances at her. She tries to ignore it, focusing on her work, but she can't help but feel nervous and excited at the same time. After a few hours of filming, they break for lunch. Mia heads to the catering table and starts fixing herself a plate. As she's about to sit down, Ethan appears next to her. "Mind if I join you?" he asks. Mia nods, feeling her heart racing. They sit down together, and Ethan starts asking her about her life outside of work. As they talk, Mia can't help but feel like there's something between them, something deeper than just a professional connection. But she's afraid to take the next step, afraid of what might happen if she puts her heart on the line. The rest of the day passes in a blur of filming and script revisions. As they wrap up for the day, Mia feels a sense of relief and sadness. She's happy to be done with work for the day, but she'll miss spending time with Ethan. As she's packing up her things, Ethan appears next to her. "Hey, I was thinking," he says. "Do you want to grab a drink later tonight? Just the two of us?" Mia's heart skips a beat. This is it, the moment she's been waiting for. She takes a deep breath and nods. "Sure, that sounds great," she says, trying to keep her voice steady. Ethan grins, looking almost as nervous as she feels. "Great, I'll see you later then," he says, before turning and walking away. Mia can't believe it. This is really happening. She can't wait to see where this goes.
