Chapter 5 “Do you find it?” The cold and mean voice that she was so familiar with waked her up from the recalling. Startled a little bit, Susanna looked over this couple in front of her and smiled as sweet as she could. “Almost. Please just ignore me.” “Of course, you’re nothing to us, so just do whatever you have to do.” Grace smiled complacently as the winner in the horse racing. Susanna withdrew her smile and kindness. Sometimes it’s not worthy to waste any time or mood at anything or anybody, for they just don’t deserve it. With the stimulation from Grace, Susanna speeded up her search. Obviously, god had chosen to stand by her side, “Ah, it’s here!” Susanna crawled out of the narrow space under the desk, with a contract held in her hand. The contract had fallen down from the desk and been covered by a magazine that Stephan was so fond of reading that he loved to read in his spare time. On the magazine front page was the polar lights that he had promised to take her to view for one time. But now, every promise that he had ever made in their marriage had gone with the wind. “Wow, the polar lights are so beautiful!” Susanna was surprised by the view that the magazine had shown. Stephan back then was tender and nice as her soul mate, he smiled and patted on her head, “if you like it, we could go there after our company steps onto the right track.” “Really?” Susanna was happy with sparkling lights in her eyes. “Of course, as long as we’re free, ” Stephan pulled her back to his arms and continued, “we could go everywhere you like.” Leaning to the chest of Stephan and hearing the strong beats of his heart, Susanna was comforted with his random promise. Back then she was happy and didn’t know that kind of scene wouldn’t last for long. And now Susanna knew all those memories were her beautiful dreams and one day she had to wake up from them. Stephan seemed to catch the slight expression change on Susanna’s face, he stood up and came. “You found it?” Although he could see it, he kept inquiring as a blind man. Susanna was stuck by the memories and tried to pull herself out of the past, so she didn’t look back to him, saying “Yes, it’s under the desk, it’s for you now.” When saying, Susanna put the contract and the magazine onto the desk, leaving without giving any glances at both of them. “Susanna seems to be more silent than before.” When closing the door for them, Susanna heard Grace made a sigh before leaning to Stephan. Susanna didn’t know what Stephan had answered, but she knew there was no need to know that anymore. “How is it?” KiKi obviously had come back from the warehouse and got close to Susanna by slipping on the chair. “It’s heard that Mr. Lim was seeking for the contract with BAS and nobody could find it.” Kiki’s face was filled with worries. Susanna smiled to release her worries, “it’s fine. I’ve found it out.” “Brilliant.” KiKi yelled without a surprising face. “You’re the icy water to put out the fire of our monster president.” Saying that, KiKi held up her thumb to Susanna. “Save it, I didn’t do it for your appreciations.” Susanna covered Kiki’s thumb with her hand. “Don’t make me the Savior, for I’m not.” Especially she definitely wouldn’t be the one for him. Grace was the angel to save him. “But you did save us from his criticism.” Cherry sprang up as a ghost. “Screw you. You pushed me into the trap of danger and now come for a forgiveness?” Susanna rolled her eyes to show her disagreement. Cherry waved her hands to refuse the judgment and said with scrupulousness, “We have to. He was so mad at us that we thought he could swallow us alive.” “Are you trying to brainwash me to decrease your guilty?” Susanna decided to quit from the argument. She was not a special one for her and she shouldn’t have any thought of such image. Cherry realized her rejection and said by getting close to her ear, “when we’re duty off, let me buy you some drinks.” “Really?” Susanna turned to Cherry with surprising eyes. Although she didn’t like the flattering words, she couldn’t refuse the free drinks. “You’re really a juice head.” Cherry mocked with relief. Susanna made a face at Cherry before turning back to the computer for work. If tonight she wanted to have some drinks, she must finish the work before the duty off. Susanna was so busy in checking and answering emails or document compiling that she didn’t know when Grace left. “Mr. Lim is asking you to his office.” Cherry came with a sorry face. Susanna felt it’s a little bit hard to withdraw her rolling eyes when hearing such a message before going off duty. “Can I refuse it?” Susanna smiled with a “sweet and flattering” smile. It was Cherry’s turn to roll her eyes. “What do you think?” Susanna shrugged her shoulders finally, “okay, fine.” If there must be someone into the hell, maybe she herself was the destined one. “Excuse me, what can I do for you?” Standing in front of the desk, Susanna tried her best to hide her unwillingness. Stephan looked up at her from the files with frowning eyebrows. Susanna compressed her lips and refused to say more. He was not the dummy. “Tonight, accompany me to attend a party held by BAS.” Stephan said in an official tone that Susanna couldn’t find any hints of emotions. “But I……” Susanna withdrew her confession, she couldn’t tell him she was going to the pub tonight just a week after their divorce. “I don’t feel good now, I may have to ask a leave for my stomachache.” Stephan frowned his eyebrows more seriously. “Are you alright?” No matter what Stephan had done or said to her, he at least was not a hard-hearted monster. “I would be fine as long as I could have a rest.” Susanna answered with her sweetest smile. She successfully won a rest with her excellent acting skill. At this moment, she didn’t know what seed she had sowed.
