Chapter 3
“What happened…” Susanna asked with frowning eyebrows.
Cherry didn’t answer but stepped forwards to drag her out of the hugs of KiKi. “Tell you later, now please come with me.” Saying that, Cherry pulled Susanna and left KiKi with an opened mouth.
Behind them was the yelling of KiKi, “but who helps me to move the materials upstairs!”
Cherry didn’t look back but tried to comfort her, “I’ll ask someone to help but now Susanna has a more important thing to do.”
Susanna stared at the screen on the lift, knowing in heart that it must be something wrong with him.
“President Lim was angry with us for not finding the document he wanted.”
Hearing what had been in her mind said from the mouth of Cherry, Susanna breathed out and knew her escaping had failed eventually.
“What does he want?” Susanna seemed to have not been affected by the anxiety of Cherry, she just continued the inquiry.
“He said it was the contract that he had signed with BAS, but we have checked the cabinet for BAS and found nothing.”
“Is the one that he signed in April 20?” Susanna remembered it was a contract about the gas supply to their plant. Back in that day, he was so happy that he even had hugged her tight to turn around like a dancing couple.
“Susanna, do you remember anything or know anything about it?” Cherry held Susanna’s arms to shake her up. “Hey, are you still here?”
Susanna came back to earth and forced herself to smile, “I’m alright, I was just trying to figure out where he has put it into. I remember that day he brought it back to his office for a review after the signature in the meeting room.”
In fact, he brought back to teach her to get used of the article compiling in such a commercial contract.
She remembered some rules and professional expressions of such contract compiling, but she was impressed by the close distance between them, the long eyelashes he had and the lingering perfume that he had worn……
“Susanna…Susanna…can you hear me?” Cherry can’t help rolling her eyes. “Are you still with me?”
Susanna smiled with embarrassment and gently patted on Cherry’s head, “Don’t worry about it, and I’ll be on it.”
Finishing this sentence, Susanna opened the door of his office.
“How come such a GM office with so many of you couldn’t find a contract for me?!”
“Am I paying thousands of dollars for you guys to wander about?”
“If none of you could find it, just get lost……”
This voice sounded so familiar that had come through the gap of the door once Susanna opened it just a little bit.
In front of the unique desk in the office were several staffs to GM who kept looking down but the trembling hands showed their fears.
As soon as Susanna walked inside, all of them heard and turned around with sparkling eyes. Susanna had a kind of illusion that they’re looking at her as the Saviour. However, all of them looked down again to continue the mistake-acknowledging gesture.
In the meantime, Susanna had caught sight of Stephan’s slight change in face. As soon as Susanna came in and he saw her, he had stopped his rage.
Susanna didn’t say anything but nodded as courtesy.
Stephan turned aside with a grim face, however, he didn’t criticize the whole staffs of GM office anymore.
As soon as Susanna joined the line of colleagues standing in front of the desk, she could feel all of them had taken a deep breath out.
“President, is there anything that I could do for you?” Susanna asked in a calm voice, slighting waving with her palm to ask them to get out of the office.
They saw the gesture immediately and all nodded to show their understanding and appreciations, leaving without any hesitation.
Stephan didn’t change his gesture of looking aside. Although he may have noticed their action, he didn’t stop them.
A kind of silence seemed to quench his anger quickly and overwhelmingly.
“Are you trying to find the contract with BAS?” Susanna asked by ignoring his amazing profile that still could make her heart pound.
Stephan finally glanced at her and nodded his head. “Yes, I want to check some of the articles, because tonight I’m going to have a dinner with their chairman Mr. Wilson.”
“John Wilson?” Susanna inquired and started to check the files on the bookshelf behind him. She knew he had the habit of putting things away at will. Maybe it’s possible that he had put it into the shelf at a venture.
“Impossible.” Seeing her movement, Stephan sat back to his chair and receded with his feet. “They’ve checked it, they found nothing.”
Browsing the books on the shelf, Susanna stopped and looked back at him.
“What? Are you trying to blame me for putting it away back then?” Stephan suddenly said in a weird tone. The shining sunshine fell on his head that Susanna didn’t see what expression was on his face.
Susanna smiled, “Mr. Lim, you’re the president, I don’t have the guts to judge on your behavior, right?”
As long as they were together alone, Stephan was always suspecting her mood or expectation. Susanna was tired of explaining, so she quit the conversation and continued the search.
“I remember you have ever put it on the desk.” Susanna began to sort out the pile of files on his desk.
Stephan was just sitting next to the desk, so it’s inevitable that the distance between their two was a little to close since Stephan didn’t take any moves.
Susanna took a slow and slight breath out to calm herself down, trying to hold her beating heart jumping out of her throat.
Susanna didn’t know the air of this office would be so thin at such a moment, now she couldn’t recall the times when they worked together for the same goal in that small department that they had used as their start-up office.
“Susan…” Stephan’s voice pulled her back to the fact but was disturbed by the sound of door opening, came after which was the silvery laughter that Susanna wouldn’t forget in her life.
