Chapter 8
The sweetest laughter that Stephan could remember the best was when she was a shadow of he and Grace back then.
As if a plant without the ability of love, Susanna would always refuse to have any dates with others.
“Don’t push me to do anything like this, you don’t have the right to force me to do this even though you're my good friend.” There was one time when she lost her temper and yelled at him. Back when Stephan just kept prattling with her about this aspect and she was silent and he thought she would just take some of his words into consideration. He had never expected she would be pissed off like that.
“There is no need for you to worry about my dates.” Susanna claimed as a cat of anger. “Even though you and Grace are great as a couple, it doesn’t mean everyone has to have a partner. I'm quite enjoying my being alone”
It was the first time for Stephan to witness Susanna lost her temper, and this was quite a shock for him.
After that incident, Stephan didn’t talk of things of this type with Susanna, for he thought since it was Susanna’s final decision, he didn’t have to worry about it.
Therefore, he stopped the interrupting and just focused on the startup business. After all, he began to consider about this case just because Grace mentioned the being-single status of Susanna.
What’s more, except the relationship part, Susanna seemed to quite enjoy her current living way. She would be amazed by the long travel to witness the falling sunset on the top of the mountain. She would smile relaxed and happily after sending the goods to the express company. She would be happy enough when they took her to a well-known restaurant to taste the beef steak……
“Don’t you feel lonely?” Back then Stephan was quite curious about the true feelings of Susanna.
Stephan could still remember the sweet and comforting smile on her face, “I could be happy for my being single, and I definitely wouldn’t form up a relationship because of loneliness.”
Yes, she did enjoy her being single, just like how she was now.
Susanna herself now was totally devoting herself into drinking that she even didn’t remember or realized he was still here.
“Susanna, do you know I’m still here?” Stephan asked with suspect. He couldn’t believe she was drunk so quickly.
Right at this moment, Susanna was lowering her head to stare at the cups of wine, which looked so gorgeous under the dim lights. Hearing what Stephan said, she looked up and tried to widen her eyes, as if trying her best to waken her own mind“aren’t you the…the…”
“The, the, what?” Stephan asked in a poker face.
Susanna stopped for a little while and then frowned her eyebrows, “aren't you Stephan?”
“……” It turned out she was not drunk to death. Stephan was satisfied and continued, “since you could recognize me, tell me, why aren’t you willing to go with me to the party.” Stephan knew it deep inside, but he still wanted to hear she spoke out.
“……” Susanna withdrew her sight and stared at the cups of wine again.
After quite a while that Stephan thought she had forgotten his question, Susanna answered without looking at him, “Based on the current status between you and me, there is no need for spending time together except when it’s necessary.”
Stephan tried to quibble but was stopped by Susanna’s words: “Grace was back, it’s her turn to accompany you to go wherever you like. Don’t you think so?”
With a smile on her red lips, Susanna looked at him as if she was not drunk at all.
“Susanna,” Stephan called unconsciously. “I...I...”
Susanna frowned her eyebrows and tried to focus on what he said, however, he suddenly stopped.
“Oh, it turns out that you’re here. I’ve heard...” It’s the familiar voice that Susanna just could not ignore even though she was almost drunk.
Both Susanna and Stephan turned to the voice source and saw Grace was standing there in a red long dress, shining with the sweet smile as the old days.
“Oh, Susanna, you’re here. So coincident that you’re everywhere. Are you the ghost following us?”
Sometimes, it’s quite easy to stand facts on heads, and this moment could be counted as one.
However, Susanna was always not the one to be beaten repeatedly. “Cherry and I arrived here at 18:30, why not you inquire Mr. Lim when did he come?” Susanna gave out a polite smile.
Grace even didn’t look at Stephan and continued the nagging, “Of course it’s you’re the follower, how come a president like Stephan would come for you, such a common colleague that he shouldn’t have wasted any time on you.”
“Of course, I just want to say I’m not the insane girl to chase after her boss even at night. After all, the daytime work is suffering enough.” Susanna smiled to Grace and picked up a cup of wine to bottle up.
“Hehe, drink alone? I truly believe that you’re not coming here just for this!” Grace obviously didn’t want to buy the excuse.
Rolling her eyes as a kind of reply, Susanna smiled sweetly, “of course I’m coming for......” Susanna looked at Stephan and then looked over the dancing pool, in which Cherry was so enjoying the moment when there were so many handsome guys around.
Stephan turned to Susanna in a face of complexity.
Is there any expectation? Susanna frowned her eyebrows but finally released when catching sight of his hand holding up to the waist of Grace.
It’s the most familiar scene that she had witnessed in those past days.
“Of course I came with Cherry for any possible dates tonight!” Susanna smiled and then stood up to walk to the dancing pool.
Someone’s love needs room to show off in, but she wouldn't be the one to witness.
