Chapter 7 Susanna had never regretted anything she said or did until this moment. She swallowed down the last sip of wine without looking up into his eyes. But she could feel his temptation to kill her. “Does your stomach still hurt?” Ignoring what Cherry had asked, Stephan smiled warmly towards Susanna. For quite a moment, Susanna wanted to jump up to tear the smile on his face into pieces. However, she knew exactly that she had neither rights nor guts. Therefore, Susanna smiled back with gratefulness. “Yes, I’m fine now.” Susanna tried her best to not release any personal emotions. “It’s none of your business” was not the words that she could reply with in awakened mind. However, her politeness was not answered correspondingly. “So, you said you’re not able to accompany to the party was a lie?” Stephan seemed to not plan to let her go. “No, it did hurt, but I feel better now.” Susanna tried to be official and obedient as ordinary. “You have an excellent recovery ability.” Stephan smiled, officially and meaningfully. Susanna didn’t want to tangle with him about such case, so she nodded her head to show her agreement, “thanks for your appreciations, please forgive me for not able to attend the party with you.” “It’s alright.” Stephan smiled nicely and sat down. “I wouldn’t be that kind of guy that would blame you for such a case.” It turns out that you know it’s just a piece of cake but you mean to tangle with me intentionally? Susanna looked at him and moved a little to avoid the close distance that he had created. Yes, Stephan sat down beside her. Cherry was aghast for his seating. “Mr. Lim......” As if reading Cherry’s mind, Stephan smiled politely to them, “Am I the little-appreciated guest for you two?” Definitely yes! Susanna and Cherry looked at each other, both seeing the admission in each other’s eyes. Of course, they wouldn’t dare to confess such fact to the top management of their company, which paid for their beer and skittles eventually. Stephan seemed to not catch their meaning at all, he raised his hand to make orders. Susanna wanted to say something before Cherry pulled her shoulders to stop her. Cherry got close to Susanna’s ear and said, “It’s our boss, it’s our misfortune to meet him at such a place, but we can’t change it into a tragedy.” Thinking of the apartment rental and living cost, Susanna decided to withdraw her impulsion. Susanna and Cherry began to sit there like the well-behaved students in front of their teacher, still and silent. “Come on, when I saw you two here, you’re not the statues like this.” Stephan was always the straightforward guy that he wouldn’t hide anything back, especially when he was in anger. “Cherry, why not go dance in the dancing pool?” Susanna didn’t want to drag any innocent people into this embarrassing situation, so she said and pushed her to stand up. “Are you okay with this?” in a low voice, Cherry was released for Susanna’s rescue, but she was worried about the present situation. The lion of anger seemed to be pissed off again, although she didn’t know why. After all, they’re duty off, they have the rights to hang around. Of course, such words were not able to claim in front of this man. “It’s okay, it’s just like what I met in the workplace, isn’t it?” Susanna smiled to release her worries, and Cherry left after getting her comfort. “Just go.” Susanna waved her palm. Stephan didn’t say anything until Cherry reached the middle of the dancing pool. “You have a good colleague who could leave you into the danger.” Stephan did have a mean tongue although most of times he was right about the sign catching. “It shouldn’t have bothered you.” Susanna changed the tone that was not like that in the office. In front of others, she could pretend to be the subordinate to him, but when they’re alone, she had no desire to hide her true feelings anymore. After all, she looked for nothing from him. “Huh, you’re yourself and couldn’t cover your original characteristics now.” Stephan smiled but not too much. Susanna didn’t answer but picked up the cups of wine that have been prepared by the waiter after his ordering. The wine tasted bitter and bitter now. However, Susanna was attracted by the bitterness in the tongue, so she continued the tasting without any attention left for the volatile beside. Susanna didn’t know how much time had passed by, but she did know Stephan couldn’t stand the attitude anymore. “Do you think I’m buying these wines for you to ignore me?” Pressing on the hand back of Susanna to stop her forcefully, Stephan looked down with a pissed-off face. “Ah-huh, I almost forgot, you always wait for me to pour wine for you.” Susanna smiled sweetly and picked up one cup of wine, “here, here you go, it’s for you! Enjoy it all!” Stephan just stared at her and didn’t accept the cup of wine. Susanna yelled out with frowning eyebrows. “I’m asking you to hold it yourself, are you deaf?” The extraordinary voice gave a hint of her drunken status. The frowned eyebrows cracked his poker face. “Are you drunk?” Stephan asked in a hesitant uncertainty. Susanna sat closer and asked, “Pardon?” Staring at the leg closely to his, Stephan pulsed his lips and said nothing. “Do you wonna try or not?” Susanna continued, holding the cup of wine still in her hand. “Want it or not?” Susanna used the other hand to hold the chin of Stephan. Stephan’s frowned eyebrows became more obvious. “It seems that you don’t like drinking.” Susanna drank up that cup of wine right before Stephan desired to accept it. Susanna drank that up without any hesitation, “Wow, the things at no cost always taste good.” After that, Susanna even winked to Stephan with a sweet and true smile. Stephan had almost forgotten when the last time of her true laughter was. Back when they’re stuck in the rented house in the very beginning of business startup? Or before the coming-back of Grace?
