Aurora's POV:
My phone will not stop ringing so I pick it. "Hello?"
"Hey Aurora, it's Lenzie." She sounds as if she has been crying.
"Well what is it you want to talk to me about?"
"I wanted know if you've seen the kids. We can't find them."
"Sorry, I have not. I'll ask Ginger and if she has no leads then I'll send out a search party."
"Okay, thank you Aurora."
"You're welcome, Lenzie. Take care now, okay?"
"Okay, I will."
Then she ends the call. A mysterious portal appears five feet in front of me.
A mysterious portal appears five feet in front of me.
"Ginger!" I shout and she comes.
Ginger is my cousin. She has blue skin with pink fades on her limbs, long orange-red hair with hazel eyes that have no pupils, and two thick antennae on her head.
"Yes? What is-" She asks before noticing the portal.
Ginger throws a pebble into the portal. The pebble never comes back. Dude comes in.
"I'll go through." He said.
"Okay, but please be careful." Aurora said giving him a kiss before he goes into the portal.
On the other side, there is blood and c*****e everywhere. The kids are spread out on the ground but alive.
Dude comes back in and dragged me through.
I call up Lenzie. "We found them. I'll send you the location over text."
"Are they okay?" Lenzie asks.
"They're alive." I answer.
"Angel! Please. Don't die on me. Please be okay." Gloria is trying to crawl over to Angel slowly but surely and in pain.
I walk over to them. "Hey, it's okay. I'm here to help. I won't let her die but we need to get you guys out of here."
"We can't leave. They won't allow it." Gloria tells me.
"We will find a way." Dude says.
I pick up my phone again. "Hey Mom, can we have nurses come here?"
"Sure, but I got the memo about that place so be careful. We'll try figuring out how to get you guys out of there." My mom answers.
Marigold is laying close to a tree bleeding from the mouth. The grass is stained with puddles of crimson. The nurses come in through a portal and immediately start tending to the kids.
Dude's P.O.V.
Whoever did this to these kids is sick in the head. Like there must be some screws loose or something.
Gloria's knee is badly injured. She can't even move it! There is also a bullet in her knee. Angel has a hole in her chest which scares me because her mom she already has a heart murmur. Marigold has a hole in back caused by a bullet. The nurses tell us that it pierced her left lung.
Some of the kids are already passed out. The rest are slowly losing consciousness. They need a hospital and fast. With her last bit of energy, Gloria creates a hospital in the dimension. The nurses rush the kids inside immediately.
Gloria's P.O.V.
Being attacked suddenly is a total blur. It all is happening so fast. I lay there on the ground badly beaten and bruised. It is like a feeling of hopelessness rushing over you.
Hearing king Dude and then his wife queen Aurora gives me hope. I know everything is going to be okay when they are around. Then I hear more voices saying stuff like my grandma when she is working. That really gives me hope, being surrounded by medical professionals.
I know what the perpetrator are doing to Angel and the others. I can't do anything being ganged on myself. Angel lays there motionless after the attack. Worry fills my mind quickly. Is she breathing? Is she still alive?
Now I am suddenly in an open field completely healed as if that whole situation never happened. And the others are here too?
"Was that a dream?" I asks in confusion.
"It's possible but we can't heal in a matter of seconds, except for Marigold if she doesn't have anything in her wound." Aurla replies.
Aurora's P.O.V.
I am walking around in the rooms routinely checking on the children. They have just come out of surgery but they are not out of the woods yet. Especially poor Angel.
I walk into Oliver's room and he is freaking out. "Oliver, you need to calm down."
"Wherearemysiblin-"
"It's okay, please calm down or we're going to put you to sleep."
"Butwherearethe-" He says getting interrupted by nurses trying to put him to sleep and succeeding.
In surgery, they fix the hole in her heart created by the bullet. Her heart murmur still remains, however. Angel is also put into a medically induced coma so her heart can recover fully.

"Marigold, are you there?" I ask.
"Yeah, and the rest of us as well." Marigold responds
"Good, I'm trying to help you guys get out. Thanks to the flower I was able to track the dimension down. Now I just have to do the difficult part getting in." I tell them.
"What's even happening? Are we awake?" Savvina asks. "Or are we in heaven?"
"No, you guys are just unconscious."
"What happened so far?" Mona inquires
"Aurora came in with Ginger, Dude and brought nurses to take care of you guys." I inform them.
"Queen Aurora and queen Ginger are here? But how?" Araminta inquires
"Yes, a portal opened to them." I say
"I wanna know what happened to our bodies. We got pretty beaten up." Aurla states
"They're okay just in the process of healing." I respond.
"Hopefully we wake up tomorrow. Knowing the aliens though they definitely brought the strong stuff." Arthur states.
"Do you guys hear that?" Marigold asks hearing a familiar voice.
"I don't know?" Ethan says
Marigold follows the sound.
"Mom?" She sees Kelly holding an infant. "Is that me?"
Kelly is singing 'I Got You' by Ciara.
"Pretty." Ethan comments.
"Ethan!" Mona shouts thwacking him on the head.
"I will always protect you, little one. No matter how far away I am. And as long as you have your pendant." Kelly tells the infant.
Marigold clutches her pendant.
"What?" Ethan asks with a little bit of a whimper.
"You don't interrupt a moment like that. It's precious." Talicia scolds him.
"Oh...sorry." Ethan says
Aurora's P.O.V.
I am in Angel's room waiting for her to show signs of improvement.
"Nurse Jenny, how is Angel doing?" I asks.
"She's stable and her heart rate is better than it was." Nurse Jenny replies.
"That's good. Let's hope it stays that way."
"Agreed. Poor thing. Her life has only just begun."
"I also hope this doesn't scar them mentally."
"They are stronger than that. I'm sure they'll pull through just fine."
"I know. I just can't imagine having my kids go through what these kids did. It's not right."
"You've got a point there."
"Well, I'm going to go check on the others again." I say as I walk to the door.
"I'll be here."
I then walk into Gloria's room. "Nurse, any news?"
Gloria's P.O.V.
Opening my eyes, I see Aurora standing over me with concern written all over her face.
"Queen Aurora," I say softly.
"How do you feel Gloria?" Aurora asks.
"Confused." I can feel something hugging my knee tightly. My skin is unable to breath through the bandages protecting my knee. "I'm kinda glad I can't feel it. I know it will be painful."
"That's good. Do you have any questions?"
"Is Angel okay?" I asks trying to hold back a tear.
"She's getting better. I'm sure she will be out of bed in no time." Aurora tells me.
I just can't hold it back anymore. I feel too guilty about what happened to Angel. I'm supposed protect her and I failed. I am so sorry Angel. It's my fault that you are where you are right now. A tear starts trickling from my tear duct.
"Shh...it's okay." Aurora says while wipping the tears off with her hand.
"I failed her. I swore to protect her. I'm not be her guardian." My tears turn into a rushing river, my emotional pain greater than my physical pain.
"You did your best and that's all that matters, isn't it?"
"No..." I trail off for a moment. "She could have died because of me."
"Well, she's still alive. So I think you did a good job protecting her."
I stay silent knowing that the only reason Angel is alive is because of queen Aurora.
"Would you like some food?"
I shake my head practically drowning in my tears at this point.
"Well, at least have some water." Aurora says handing me a glass of water.
I drink it while some of my tears flow into the glass. I am just increasing my tear production by drinking it but I am not gonna deny her a second time.
Angel's P.O.V.
I can sense Gloria's distress.
"Gloria, are you okay?" I ask telepathically.
"Angel?" She sounds as if she is crying but relieved at the same time by the sound of my voice. "Are you awake now? I am sorry I put you there."
"Gloria, you're not the one who needs to apologize. You know that, right?"
"I am supposed to be your protector, Angel. I promised you and everybody else that I would be."
"Gloria, we protect each other. And no matter how much we try we might fail. In the end all that matters is that we are alive and have each other."
I only receive silence in return. I think she knows that I'm right. Her guilt is too strong right now.
I continue. "B.F.F.s, always. Remember that, okay?"
Her response sounds weak but at least she answers me. "Yea."
Dude's P.O.V.
I've been looking around a lot to find at least something. Who ever did this to the kids must have been wearing gloves because I cannot find anything except for the kids' blood. This is frustrating.
I decide to go inside for clues. Something tells me to go talk to Gloria. She is the one that told us that we can't leave at the moment. Then something else tells me to go talk to Marigold. I don't know why. I decide to talk to Marigold.
She is laying in her bed with her head towards the monitor. The look in her eyes tells a different story. Like she is stuck in her thoughts.
"Hey, Marigold?" I say.
She looks at me , her eyes suddenly full of curiosity.
"I have some questions for you."
"Did you find anything?" She asks weakly.
"Not yet."
She goes silent.
"Do you have any memory on the situation?"
She reaches toward her face to take off the mask that is supplying her with oxygen.
"Hey, that might not be a safe idea."
She puts her hand on chest and focuses her eyes back on me.
"I must keep them safe. It is-" Marigold pauses to take a breath. "It is my duty."
I nod letting her know I am listening.
"The animals. I am their guardian." She continues
"Did something happen to the animals?"
"It was a trap. They knew I would come. That's when they ambushed me."
I feel bad that she has to stop after every sentence to take a breath.
"Luckily the others and I are a pack so, if you attack one you get twenty more." She adds.
I nod. "Thank you for the information. If you have anymore wait until you are a little better. I don't want you pushing yourself too hard. Especially in this condition, okay?"
She nods back at me before transferring back to her thoughts.
I go to Mona's room next. Mona is also stuck in her thoughts. It's not like she has anything better to do in that bed. Her left arm is bandaged up too.
"Mona?" I say walking in.
"King Dude." She sits up to look at me.
"I have some questions for you."
"Ask away, your highness."
"Do you remember anything that happened to you?"
"Getting shot in the arm was nice. We couldn't see their faces because they were wearing bandanas and head coverings."
"Later we can do descriptions so I can see if Lenzie can get a lead."
"But how? The only thing you can see is their eyes. Almost everybody has them."
"The clothes."
"Whatever you say. Is everyone okay? Gloria isn't taking things too hard is she?"
"I don't know. You would have to ask my wife on that one."
"I'd love to but..." Mona shows me her IV. "I'm kinda stuck here and I don't want to know what happens if I rip this out of my arm."
"I mean when she comes to check up on you."
"That works too. There's nothing fun to-" Mona's expression of neutrality changes to an expression of discomfort. "Ow-ouch."
Aurora comes in immediately to give her more medicine.
"Is everyone okay?" Mona asks slowly calming down.
"Everyone is getting better as it stands." Aurora answers.
"That's good. Oh Dude, Aurla has some interesting information for you." Mona tells me.
"Okay. Well take care." I say as I walk out the door.
Mona lays back and drifts off to sleep.
I walk into Aurla's room. She is reading a book titled "Shiver" and written by Maggie Stiefvater.
"Hi, Aurla?" I say. "I have some questions for you."
Aurla lowers her book. "Mona sent you?"
I nod. "So you know what I'm gonna ask you?"
"Yes. I couldn't make it out but I noticed a mark on one of their wrist. I think it might have been a snowflake."
"Thanks, I'll remember that."
"I thought you were a bodyguard not a private investigator."
"We need to figure out the opposition."
"That doesn't answer my question. Bodyguards protect, a PI investigates for someone."
"How am I supposed to protect when I don't know what I'm protecting against?"
"True. I just want to go home."
"It would be nice."
Aurla pulls her blanket over her body.
"Who else should I go talk to?" I ask.
"Our parents would be nice."
"I'll go video call them then."
The kids fall asleep again. I pull out my phone and call Anna.
"Hey, any news? Ein is, uh...well...in containment. Things are getting bad." She informs me.
"The kids are getting better and I got one thing."
"Which is?"
"Do you guys know anything on snowflake markings?"
Anna's eyes widen. "There's no way. She's been trapped on that island for YEARS."
"Who?"
"Winter Frost. She was my arch nemesis."
"At least we have one lead."
"Kinda. I'm looking it up now and it shows that she is still on the island."
"Good thing we upgraded the system over all the years."
"Yeah, but if it isn't her that we are dealing then who could it be?"
"Children could be a possibility."
"You're right. The only ones that can bare the mark are her and her offspring."
"And guessing by her name her powers must be close to the Iceolites, right?" I ask Anna.
"I think so." Anna replies
"Good. That at least gives me an idea of what we are dealing with."
"It's so hard to resist going over there. Our children are over there and hurt. I guess we did kind of sign up for this."
"I know how you feel. I can't even see my children either and I don't want the risk of them coming over here. They're safer at home."
"So how do we go about catching them?"
"I don't know."
"Alright well, if you find any new evidence don't hesitate to call."
"Okay."
Anna ends the call.
