The Beginning Of The End
Desperation courses through my veins as my body tumbles through vines, catching and tripping, unable to stop. Running from home, bad idea, right? Except in having no choice: it's really the only idea that seemed like a good one in the moment.
Glancing around, I breathe, letting the air pull into my lungs and release as the pounding settles over beating ribcage. How stupid was I? To think my mother ever wanted me to be happy. I was thinking differently a few hours ago.
Dead was the chicken layed upon the plate whilst the music had played and dinner was served on the finest silverware that could be found. Having worn a dress adorned on me by my mother. It was assumed to be a birthday or a special guest to greet us. For once that was not the case. For once I was fooled.
Knocking was heard as I had rushed to present myself perfectly. For Mother. A Stunning picture was seen before me as a man entered presented in gold and beauty beyond this world. Sweet but underneath there layed a beguiling demon.
Talking echoed throughout the room as a feast finished and dessert was layed out. Smiling was she as my mother began the news. News that would change me for the worse. My mother had engaged me to a man I have never met for a deal she had lost. Confused and anger filled me as I lashed out with words that sliced too thinly for the air to hold.
Running was my only option.
To escape my mother.
To escape love.
Echoes of the past circled through my mind as regrets accompanied them. I had been a fool but no more. Walking through the forest as it opens up open a desolate street whilst music blasts through the air. A party? A good place to hide. A good place to lose myself in.
No more regards for who I was or will be. Walking into that party will change my life. Who cares anymore? Apparently someone does. Apparently someone wants to. Apparently we're destined.
