CHAPTER FOURTEEN Sycamore Lane Elementary was only a mile and a half from Hutton’s apartment. They drove past it and pulled into a parking place about a block away. Morgan unzipped his jacket as they walked down the sidewalk toward the school just as Danielle pulled on her suit jacket. He gave her a quizzical look. “Hides the badge and g*n better,” she said to Morgan’s raised eyebrows. “Don’t want to alarm anyone.” A soft breeze, still tinged with rain, blew down the street carrying the scent of cherry blossoms with it.
