Another day of work and another Wednesday alone.  Today it was Ramsey who was a pain in the butt this morning. Same routine as Mary the other day, though with more loud purring than meowing. Eventually David figured out what he wanted and he settled down. Apparently he was cold and needed to get under the covers with us. He’s not done that in a long time as normally all three cats hate being under blankets and things. But we didn’t get much more sleep as it wasn’t long before the alarm went off. Why can’t cats want to come to bed when we go to bed and stay there until we get up. It’s very frustrating. I ended up deciding to stay in bed for an extra half hour missing my shower time. I figured that I'd had a good long shower yesterday so it would be fine, and with the cat being a pain I wanted just a bit more rest. Even when that half hour had passed I still struggled to get up, leaving myself very little time to actually get ready for work. It was another morning of sunshine with dark clouds on the horizon, and I think it had been raining during the night too, as everything was very wet. The bike was wet, the roads were wet, and it was cold, what a wonderful combination. I think if there really is a god out there he/she just likes to mess with us and laugh at our pain.  I was waitressing today, which I was thankful for. I definitely prefer waitressing over being on the deli counter, as no matter how busy it gets I just don’t get as stressed over it. It was a constant day, people coming in at a fairly regular speed which kept us all busy. It was a mixed batch today too, some of the customers I talked to were really nice and happy to have a little joke with me or a nice conversation, but there were just as many snooty or snarky customers. People who demanded they be paid attention to even though the restaurant was full and the world does not revolve around them. We even had one woman who complained about the way the girls were cleaning the tables. I know we have to be more careful with COVID-19 around, but there are limits to what we can do with the time and resources we have available. What she was suggesting would take twice as long, and likely go through a whole box of disposable gloves in one day per person on tables. That’s just not going to help anyone or the environment. cleaning down was a chore too. Normally I like helping out on tables at the end of a waitressing day because it means I actually get to talk to some of my colleagues. But not today. Most of the table clearers went home early for one reason or another, so it was left to the waitresses to take over, meaning no doubling up, meaning no interactions, just more work. It didn’t help that it seemed like all the customers left at the same time, meaning there was just table after table after table to clean. We went from an almost full room to almost empty in like 10 minutes or so. Going home I had no problems, I’d managed to pull in this morning without hitting the mirror today, so getting out was faster too. The roads were fine if still wet. There had been a real downpour of rain about an hour before leaving time but at least it wasn’t actually raining as I was going home. Then when I got home David was already on his way out to go to MtG. Seems they are leaving earlier and earlier each week which is sad. I hate coming home to an empty house and at this rate that’s going to be the case next week.  The last few days have been long and tiring so I've not been able to update this diary like I want to, so the rest of my evening has been spent doing catch up. It turned out that yesterday was a very long day and though it looks like we did a lot we really didn’t which just makes me even sadder. I did manage to catch my dad and talk to him about credit cards. With his help and clear words I took the plunge and hit the apply button. After a lot of reading of legal stuff I finally sent off the application and was accepted, so that’s a thing. I now have a credit card on the way. I’m still not sure how I feel about it, but I think in the long run it’s a good choice so long as I don’t overspend with it and things. To be honest I should have got one a long time ago, I think I'd be in a much better position if I had. I think to finish off the evening I’m now going to go and play some Batman. Hopefully David will be home soon with some foody goodness and I can have a nice relaxing day tomorrow.
