New Home

My parents sold there home rather quickly then expected, but I didn't care as I was really excited to start a new chapter in my life. I had passed my drivers license, and dad had agreed to go car shopping with me after we settled into our new home. Everything was already packed and the movers had brought our belongings to the new house. We slept in sleeping bags our last night, and only had a change of clothes and necessities to get ready in the morning before heading out. I open my eyes, and glance around my old room once last time. The new owners had two children of there own, and the little girl who was eight years old was really exited to be getting my room. I take a deep breath, and smile. "Goodbye" I whispered before closing my bedroom door and heading downstairs to meet my parents for the journey to our new home. Mom and Dad were already waiting on the doorstep for me. "Ready?" mom asked "Never been more ready" I replied giving her a smile. We got in mom's suv, as Dad left his navy blue dodge ram at my aunts. He took a week's vacation to get settled, mom said she would drive him back at the end of the week, and spend the weekend at my aunts with him. I already had my phone ready for music to listen to on the drive, which was a mix between our lady peace, my chemical romance, ccr, the killers, and Beyonce. My taste of music changed a bit, especially after the breakup. I didn't mind, I always liked a variety of music. The drive was quiet, Dad didn't say much, but he never did to begin with. He always came off as on the shy side. My mother on the other hand was a social butterfly, you could put her in a room full of strangers, and she'd come out with at least two or three new friends. I wish I was more like her for that reason alone. I was more on the quiet side, I was friendly, and had a few friends, but also kept to my self. I preferred nights home watching horror movies instead of going out. I wouldn't say I'm a complete nerd, but I enjoy school, and getting good grades. I'm going into grade eleven, and as Dad would say, it's never too early to think about my future, and what I want to do with my life. I have thought about it, but still undecided. As Dad starts to slow down to pull into our new driveway, I pull my ear buds out of my ears. I never seen our new home yet. The driveway was paved like our previous house, the house was one story with a basement light brown in color, one car garage. Smaller then our last house, as it was a two story with a basement light blue, and double car garage I didn't care I just wanted to see it. I opened the car door, smiled as I got out, and walked up the walkway. As soon as you walked in, there was a flight of stairs to the left leading to the basement, and a flight of stairs straight ahead to go to the other part of the house, "Let's go upstairs first" mom said grabbing me by the arm. The living room was to the right of the stairs, dark brown laminated wood flooring, light grey walls, kitchen was straight ahead from the stairs, dark brown cupboards, stainless steal appliances, and a double screen door on the far wall to go out to the deck/ backyard. Off the kitchen to the left of the staircase was a hallway, left side was my mom's office for work, across the hall was the bathroom, down a little further on the left was the guest room, and across the hall was my parents room. I figured at that point, mom put me in the basement. We headed downstairs, it was already decorated for a family /hang out room. At the back I seen a closed door, "Go look" Mom said giving me a push and smiling. I nodded and headed for the door. As I opened it, I gasped my room was beautiful and was already done up for me with all my furniture. to the left of my bedroom door, my long dresser with the mirror, then my double bed in the middle with my two night stands on each side, at the foot of my bed against the wall was my makeup desk, chair, on the wall above that was my tv, to the right of that was a walk in closet with double french doors, I had my desk to do homework on against the other wall under my window straight ahead from my bedroom door. "You missed a door" mom said pointing behind my bedroom door, I went over and seen I had my own bathroom, stand up shower in the right corner, toilet next to it on the right, and my sink right next to the door to the left. "Oh my god, I love it" I said giving both my parents a hug. "You haven't seen the back yard yet" mom said placing her hands on my shoulders. We went back upstairs to the screen door in the kitchen. There was an ingrown pool. "A pool, are you serious" I said all excited. Our old house didn't have a pool. This house was better, way way better.
