CHAPTER SEVEN
Justice POV
At the Party
The small party was still going on as we sat around, chatting about random things, when Olivia suddenly suggested a game.
“Why don’t we play Seven Minutes in Heaven?” Olivia suggested.
“How do we play that game?” Jessica asked curiously.
“We cut pieces of paper, write everyone’s names on them, fold them, and put them in a container. Everyone picks a name, and whoever’s name you pick becomes your partner. You both go to a hidden place for seven minutes and come back when the time is up,” Olivia explained.
“Wow, great! I’m in,” Liam said.
“I’m in too,” Jessica said.
“I’m in,” I said, knowing this game was definitely going to be interesting.
“I’m in too.” Leo brought out a book and pen.
“So, where’s the hidden place?” Liam asked.
“At the back of the kitchen,” Olivia replied.
“Wow, I’m starting to feel the vibes already,” Jessica said with a giggle.
Olivia wrote all our names on separate pieces of paper, folded them, and placed them in front of us.
“One more thing,” she added. “Whoever’s name you pick, you must say the name aloud before going with your partner to the hidden place.”
We all picked our papers.
“Justice, you go first,” Olivia said.
I unfolded mine.
“I picked Jessica.”
“I picked Justice,” Leo announced.
“I picked Liam,” Olivia said.
“I picked Olivia,” Jessica said.
Olivia clapped excitedly.
“Okay! Justice and Jessica go first.”
I stood up, took Jessica’s hand, and led her toward the backyard behind the kitchen.
The moment our hands touched, I felt a strange spark run through me.
When we reached the backyard, I turned to face her.
Our eyes met, and neither of us looked away.
For what felt like forever, we simply stood there, caught in the moment. My heart pounded against my ribcage as I slowly moved closer.
Then, almost instinctively, our lips met.
For those few seconds, everything else disappeared.
“Time’s up!” Olivia shouted from outside.
I pulled away reluctantly and looked at Jessica's blushing face.
“I hope you loved it,” I teased, taking her hand as we walked back.
“Leo and Justice next!” Olivia announced.
“Guy, what are we going to do inside there?” Leo asked.
“Anything. Maybe gist,” I replied as we walked toward the backyard.
As soon as we were out of everyone's sight, Leo looked at me seriously.
“Justice, don't lie to me. I know you like my cousin's best friend.”
“What are you talking about?” I asked, trying to hide the blush creeping onto my face.
“You're such a terrible liar, man.”
I sighed.
“If you like her, go after her. But know this—if you break her heart, our relationship ends there. She's like a sister to me.”
“Man, I don't—”
Leo cut me off.
“I'm not blind. I'm not stopping you from following your heart. But Clara will be a thorn in your relationship. If you really like Jessica, don't let anything hold you back. Fight for your love with every fibre of your being.”
I stared at him for a moment before smiling.
“Thanks, man. I really appreciate this.”
“Time's up! Out!” Olivia shouted.
Leo and I walked back outside.
“So, Liam and I are next,” Olivia announced.
They disappeared into the backyard, and after seven minutes, they returned.
We ended the game shortly afterward and left for our various homes.
As I lay in bed that night, I couldn't stop thinking about the kiss.
It invaded my thoughts and even found its way into my dreams.
This girl is going to be the death of me one day, I thought, smiling to myself before finally falling asleep.

At School
Closing Hour
Jessica POV
I was sitting in the car when I texted Justice.
Don't forget to come to the makeup salon at 2:30.
~Jessica
Don't worry, I won't forget, Fireball 😉
~Justice
I stared at the screen.
Wait... did you just give me a nickname? 😲🤨
~Jessica
Yep. Always had one for you.
~Justice
I smiled.
Goodbye. See you at the makeup shop 🤗
~Jessica
Yeah. Wanna see how my Fireball will look when she gets old with me 😁😁😁
~Justice
You're indescribable.
~Jessica
When I reached home, I took my bath, put on a pair of joggers and a tank top, then searched for suitable clothes for our plan.
I packed a small bag and headed to the makeup shop.
---
At the Makeup Shop
When I arrived, Justice was already there. He waved as I walked toward him.
“Hi,” I said casually.
“Hello,” Justice replied.
Suddenly, I saw a flash of light.
I turned and noticed Sharon across the road, taking pictures of us.
I quickly leaned toward Justice.
“Sharon is across the road. Let's pretend we're just talking until she leaves. I don't want to expose the plan before it even starts, right?”
“Yeah,” he agreed.
We began talking about random things—school gossip, funny comedies, and anything else we could think of—until Sharon finally left.
We quickly went inside, got our makeup done, changed our clothes, and soon enough, we looked completely different.
We barely looked like ourselves.
“They won't be able to recognize us, right?” I asked uncertainly.
“For sure.” Justice looked at me with a smirk. “But you look gorgeous.”
I rolled my eyes, trying not to smile.
“Let's move to Silver's Restaurant.”
We walked like an elderly couple, flagged down a cab, and headed toward the restaurant.
---
At the Restaurant
We entered the restaurant and chose a table directly behind Clara and Larry.
Unfortunately, we were too far away to hear their conversation.
Justice thought for a moment.
“Let me turn on your phone recorder and slide it under their table. When they leave, we'll pick it up.”
His face had hardened with anger.
“Are you sure they won't notice?” I asked nervously. “The last thing I want is for our plan to be ruined.”
“Don't worry. Trust me.”
Justice carefully slid the phone beneath their table while the recording was running.
We ordered food and chatted for what felt like forever.
Eventually, Clara and Larry stood up and left.
Once we were certain they were gone, we retrieved the phone and hurried back to my house.

At My House
As soon as we reached the front door, I rushed to the bathroom and washed off the heavy makeup.
Justice simply chuckled.
“Why are you laughing?” I asked, looking at his amused face.
“It looks like you hate makeup,” he said with a smirk. “The way you rushed to wash it off was hilarious. It's like you've been waiting all day to do that.”
“You're really full of yourself,” I snorted.
“Hurry up. We need to listen to the recording.”
“Okay, jackass.”
I rolled my eyes and finished washing my face.
We connected the phone to the speaker, and the recording began playing.
Larry's voice suddenly filled the room.
“You want Justice, and I want Jessica. Fair enough. Nothing will fail if we stick to the plan we're going to draft.”
“You know I'm just scared,” Clara replied uncertainly.
“You don't have to be. The plan is to execute it on the day of the sports competition. There'll be a party for the students afterward. That's when we'll carry out the plan.”
“How are we going to do that?” Clara asked.
“Simple. Bribe the waitress to spike their drinks. Then we'll put our phones in a booked hotel room and make it look like something happened between them. We'll play the victims, threaten them with the videos, and force them into dating us. Then we'll dump them whenever we want.”
“Are you sure this is going to work? You make it sound so simple.”
“It is. We can even go further, break the promise, and post the videos.”
“Deal, then.”
There was a brief silence before Larry spoke again.
“Why don't we enjoy single life while it lasts?”
Clara laughed softly.
“You're really good at seducing girls like me.”
Justice immediately stopped the recording.
We stared at each other, our eyes wide with shock.
“What the f**k?!” we both screamed.
For a moment, neither of us spoke.
We were both still trying to process what we had just heard.
Their plan was much worse than we had imagined.
And now that we knew the truth...
We had to figure out how to stop them.
Don't miss out! 😁🔥
