Chapter 3

1808 Words
The night, The night is still young they said, we still got time they said, and the booze kept coming and coming and we of course , kept drinking it like our lives depended on it. The last thing I remember from last night is dancing and letting the night take me away. How I got home? , I don’t remember. Am I even at home??, oh God I hope I made it to my house at least. I hear a device vibrating in my head making my pounding head hurt more. Without opening my heavy eyes, I stretch my arms under the pillows to reach for my phone. Without looking at the callers id I slide it to the right and place it on my ear. “JJ”, a cheerful Bobby screamed at my ears nearly damaging my drums. “Bobby, good morning”, I reply as I feel throat burning. “Morning??, it’s afternoon sweetheart. Are you still in bed. Jesus ! Get your ass up JJ”, he exclaims as my head not helping with the pain. “Yeah okay. I’m getting up I’ll call you later. Bye”, I state as I struggle to open my soar eyes. “Okay JJ, take some painkillers to help with the hangover and some soup. I will talk to you later okay”, Bobby instructs , turning bestie button mode on. “Okay, thank you Bobby. I love you. Later”, I say. As I’m thankful he brought me home last night. “I love you, bye”, he mumbled before hanging up. I finally manage to open my eyes and thankfully, I’m home in my room. I see my jacket carefully placed on the couch and my..bra??. The f**k is my bra doing on the couch. Did I remove it myself or did I need help?? Shit, how drunk was I that I can’t even remember such a crucial detail. This is embarrassing. Bobby had to help me get to bed that he helped me remove my bra??. Oh God, I’m never drinking again. I sit down on my bed trying to remember anything about coming home but I can’t seem to get my facts straight. No flashes no nothing. Maybe I should ask Bobby what happened later, or not. I struggle to get my jelly like feet out of the bed and I’m surprised to see water and tablets on top of the lamb table. Bobby’s such a sweetheart. I thought to myself before shoving down the tablets and taking big gulps of water till my glass is empty. I am having this voracious thirst and craving of some spicy soup. Urgh, I hate alcohol. I get off the bed and head towards the bathroom to do my morning business and maybe even shower. I need to get rid of this tiredness that i am feeling. Although, I am smelling a strong familiar masculine scent in me, which is intoxicating. I wonder how we parted ways after the club last night. I should probably stop thinking of him, it’s not like we are going to meet again. I go into the bathroom and take a long needed shower before settling for some casual home outfit then head to the kitchen. On my kitchen counter, there’s a bowl covered well and note on top written, Microwave it, it’ll help with the hangover. Woah, Bobby is really my guardian angel. I mean, he literally is taking care of me overboard. I need to treat him to something soon, at least to repay for everything he’s done. After the ding sound goes off I take the soup out and sit on the kitchen counter enjoying the soup, which is superb. I clean the dishes before heading to my office to check on my emails. The minute I open the my mailbox, I’m just reminded that I am suppose to visit the vineyard today. I almost forgot, but since it’s only 2:46 In the afternoon, I can still make it . I go over more mails and replied them to my clients. It only took fifteen minutes to finish, I get out of the office and head back to my room to take my phone and car keys. Today being a weekend, casual outfit it is. The sweats I have on is perfect, beside the weather outside is cool. I put my sneakers on and head out to the drive way where I find my baby packed . I can’t imagine how Bobby had to bring me home with my car then go back to the club to drive his car home. I must’ve been a pure nuisance to him last night. Oh, I don’t want to think about it. My drive to the vineyard takes an hour , more or less. Thanks to my efficient baby, I arrive on time. I drive toward the car path as both side of me is filled with vines and grapes. The farm house is visible, I pack my car just outside and Federico, the foreman comes over to me. “Hello ma’am”, he acknowledges as soon as I turn off the ignition and step out of the car. “Hi Fede, how are you. How’s everything?”, I respond as I extend my hands to him and he reciprocates. “I’m good ma’am. Thank you. As you can see for yourself everything is okay in the farm”, he expresses with a smile as we start walking around towards the farm. I could clearly see the grapes in perfect healthy conditions. Fede and the farmers are really doing an amazing job here. “This is excellent work Fede. Thank you”, I earnestly state. “It’s nothing madam. All of us are just repaying everything you do for us”, he expresses and I smile at him. We walk some more in a comfortable mood as he shows me the vines and the entire farm. By the time we were done, I had ate a couple vines and grapes . And I must say, they are delicious. I decide to go check the processing plant and meet the Vintner, Apollo. You see I met Apollo a couple of years back and since then he has become an amazing friend and partner. I remember talking to him about wanting to start a wine business and he jokingly told me if I ever needed a winemaker I shouldn’t look far. Well, since then all I can say is . It’s been an awesome journey. Everyone here do their work efficiently without being pushed around and that’s why my wines are one of the best in the country. It is thanks to all these people who put their effort in it. “Well, well, look who we have here today”, I hear his humming calm voice exclaim. I simply turn around with a smile looking at him in his white lab coats that’s not buttoned reveling his perfectly sculpted Italian body. “Apollo, it’s good to see that you’re still besties with the gym”, I jokingly state as I go over to to give him a hug. “Si amore, if I’m not making wine I’m busy making my body”. He respond chuckling while we let go of each other. “That’s good to know. How have you been??”, I question as we both sit down on the leather sits at the plant. “I’m fine. Simply enjoying the countryside weather. How about you?, how is the city taking you?”, he questions. “The city is wild as usual but I’m fine. Thank you”, I respond. “Is your heart okay?”, he questions. I know well where that question is coming from, Apollo is one of the people who was there for me after mine and Sam’s incident. “Yes it’s fine now . Thank you”, I express as I hold his arms and he smiles at me. We both engage in random talks, by the time we are done it’s almost dark outside. “I need to head back now. But I’ll come more oftentimes now”, I ruefully state as we both rise from our sitting position. “Of course. Please do come, every weekend if possible”, he suggests as he goes to the shelve seeming to look for something. “I will try”, I respond. He turns around with a bottle of wine which looked unfamiliar. “Here take this . Tell me what you think of then give me a response soon”, he states as he puts it inside the packaging carton. “NUOVO PERCORSO , I love it , the labeling and the packaging is also amazing. I definitely will give you a response the soonest. Honestly, I could already feel it’s a positive one”, I state still admiring and loving the wine. “I will look forward to it dolce. See you soon. Drive safely Bye”, he says. “See you. Stay safe. Bye”, I bid him farewell as I head over to my car and wave goodbye to Federico before driving back to the city. Turning the headlights on as the roads were getting darker. I turn the music up enjoying some BTS play list as I sing along to them. Music playing next, the outside getting darker and suddenly the rain starts pouring. That’s is sudden, I think to myself as my Windshield wipers dance left and right. Almost turning into a corner now at the outskirts of the city, I see a car with hazard lights on and then someone probably the owner standing waving hands. The car must’ve broken down, I thought to myself. Should I just ignore him like what other people are doing and go home pretending not to know anything?? I thought to myself . He might be serial killer, who knows. Or a pervert. Ugh, but my good side wins and I deside to pull over just behind him. I don’t have an umbrella so obviously I’m gonna be rained on and probably catch a cold because of a stranger. Wow, just my luck. I get out of the car and soon the showers of the rain hit me from head to toe, my clothes begin to get dump. “Excuse me, what happened??”, I call out as the person approaches me. But the closer the person gets, a familiar masculine scent hits my nostrils . No , this can’t be. I mean what are the odds? “JJ?”, he states surprisingly as I’m left there wondering why I had to meet him,Again.
