The weekend was pretty boring for Bina, who went out on a jog on Friday evening. Everyone was busy with preparations for Christmas, so our atheist lady had lots of free time to spend.
Some coast cities often don't tend to get snows and keep high temperatures even on December, so this year the whole idea seemed pretty off to her, not even mentioning she wasn't even ethnically Christian to begin with.
On the other hand, Nate's house was already garnished and full of mood, only waiting for Christmas Eve' to arrive.
Having all his holdays duties done up till then, Nate also took the opportunity for a jog at the evening.
Expectedly or not, in the middle of his route, he crossed ways with Bina.
Both were surprised to see each other, and both inspected each other's appearance to determine the purpose of their presence outside at that certain point.
Nate was wearing a loose sleeveless white top and dark sports shorts, exposing all the mass of his sweaty muscles.
Bina tried to avoid staring at the masterpiece, but eventually felt better complimenting him to justify her interest.
"Nice work", She said embarrassedly, pointing her figers at her shoulders and legs for the reference.
Inevitably, of course, Nate stared back. Pale pink training set of a tight top and leggings, her tiny shy and sweaty abs are exposed to the world. Her D-cup beasts are well defined and slightly pressed by the tense fabric, and her bottom and legs muscles can be seen boldly through the tights.
What is that?! Thoughts rushed to Nate's head while he remained speechless.
"Umm, thanks. You too..." He replied. "Are you... Is this your regular route?"
Bina nodded silently.
Each if them described their route for the other, after which they found funny that they have a mutual path on their way.
"We can continue together if you want", Bina offerred and was ready to get back to her pace.
Nate, who was still processing the situation and the unexpected pieces of body of the girl that not long ago was completely transparent to him, smiled in agreement and they both continued together as planned.
Most of the way was silent, but from time to time a funny story about the places they passed arised and dragged a short conversation.
When they got to the designated parting point, they stopped for a while to say goodbye.
"We should do this again," Nate started, "I had fun." He tried to examine Bina's response.
Trying not to raise her hopes up too much, she replied with a simple "yes".
Nate, however, noticed her slightly distant face.
"Yes-I'd-be-glad-to, or yes-as-wish?"
Bina chuckled at the question. "I'd be glad to", She answered, "but... Aren't you tired of seeing me all the time?"
Nate was uncomforatble with the question.
What kind of low self esteem is that?
"Uh, no, not at all. Is that a hint for me?"
"No, no! I was just... Well, you definitely didn't want to spend another minute with me before."
Nate laughed.
"That wasn't personal", he told her evasively.
"You didn't want to be seen with me."
Straight to the feels. She didn't forget that.
"Well... I was wrong. And I sincerely -"
"We are past that, Nate."
Nate wasn't sure if he should be worried for bringing up the topic again.
"I know people are talking." For Nate posing an uneasy posture, Bina made herself clearer. "I also know they say I am hanging around with you to climb the social ladder," she paused to give Nate the opportunity to reply before continuing, "and I know they say that I probably help you for a favor."
How do these rumors even spread around? Nate was wondering.
"Bina, I honestly enjoy you company."
"You don't have to tell me this just to make me feel better. I can take the last argument as true."
"Huh?"
"We both benefit from this partnership. You get your grades, and I get some company. Even if it's fake, I still get it."
Bina sighed. "So you can tell your friends that this is what it's all about... And not ignore me."
"Wow, Bina," Nate placed his palm on his face, "I am serious."
Bina looked at him with wide eyes and tilted hear head in question.
"I enjoy your company, stop talking nonsense. Okay?"
Bina nodded with doubt.
"Good", Nate assured. "So what are you doing for Christmas?"
"Um, nothing."
Nate made a questioning face expression as if he couldn't here.
"Nothing, Nate. And you?" Bina answered impatiently.
"Family evening. Nothing too religious though, more for the atmosphere."
"Merry Christmas then?" Bina smiled at him.
"Yeah... Merry Christmas."
Just before parting their ways, Nate hugged her goodbye.
"Ew, Nate, I am all sweaty." Bina complained, not being wrong.
"I don't care, me too, bear with it." Nate joked and waved her while going towards his direction.
Bina also returned home, still overwhelmed by the wild interaction they just had.
Both went to bed tired after the long meeting. They had spent their holiday just as anticipated - Nate had a warm family evening, whereas Bina just had her normal routine.

Monday morning. Nothing special about this day except the anxious Bina who is waiting for her partner in the empty class.
I spilled bunch of nonsense. He probably thinks I am stupid.
While she was facing her demons, Nate appeared in front of her and flicked her head.
"Who are you fighting with in you head?"
"No one. Myself. Never mind." Bina frowned.
Nate chuckled at the reponse and they prepared for the lecture.
When the class was over, they both headed outside to breath some fresh after-rain air.
"Bina!"
They heard a voice calling from afar. Bina turned facing the direction from which the voice came from, Nate following her.
As she concentrated on the tall, long haired, mascular and tanned figure approaching her, a wide happy smiled showed on her face and she ran towards it.
"Danny!" She exclaimed.
Danny caught her in a tight hug and a kiss on the cheek. "Hey there blossom!"
Nate watched the spectacle quietly.
So this is Danny.
Not quite what he expected from Bina's best friend.
"Nate."
Bina's calling voice woke him up from the visit he paid to the intricacies of his mind.
He should have been used to this recurrent calling of his name by this time, but it still alarmed him every time Bina pronounced his name - accurately and full of attention.
"This is Danny. Danny, this is Nate."
Danny gazed at Nate fiercely, while the latter just gave him back an indifferent look.
Thr tension seemed to lower a little bit as Danny relaxed his face and said, "So you're the famous Nate", while offerring him a handshake.
"You're the Danny", Nate shaked Danny's hand while still looking at each other.
"Impressive, I don't usually look up at people."
Danny was a relatively tall man, but compared to Nate he still looked small.
"Wow, Nate, you are even higher than Danny!" Bina uttered astounded, and Nate was satisfied with her observation.
Not entirely done marveling, Bina asked Nate about his height.
"Nate," once again grabbing his attention, "what is your height?"
"One ninety-eight", he replied.
"Wow", Bina widened her eyes. "That's ten centimeters more than Danny."
Nate glanced at her just before a large smile appeared on his face. He looked away from both to mutter, "Place a that's-what-she-said joke here..."
Bina grinned in embarrassment while Danny was wearing a look of repulsion.
Not ready to give up to Nate, Danny came up with his own pun. "You know what they say about height", he said and made a gesture with his hand forming the letter 'L' up and perpendicularly.
In response, not letting him finish his demonstration and before Bina notices, Nate cut him off.
"Yeah, that it comes with shoe sizes." Nate pointed out his shoes proudly.
Bina stared at the men confused, not even knowing what they argue about.
"What's your shoe size, Nate?" She asked, looking at his indeed big feet.
Nate, of course, smiled proudly and sent Danny vibes of victory.
"Big enough to have most of my shoes custom made."
"Wow, it's probably hard to find a fit."
"They must be extremely wide and loose, huh", Danny joined back the conersation.
Nate ignored the comment and replied to Bina, "yes, very. But I take a really good care of them." He stared contemptuously at Danny.
Danny became annoyed by the conversation and the tension could be felt even by the clueless Bina. She therefore went to get them both a cup of coffee from the nearby cafeteria.
"What are you doing?" Danny asked Nate.
"I don't know, what are you?" Nate shrugged in dismissal.
"Just leave your nasty humor away from her."
Nate sneered. "I am not going to pick up your trash as well."
"Here, got you some remedies", Bina was back with the coffees she placed inside both men's palms. "So Danny, why are you here?"
Danny cut off his gaze to sip from the coffee and turned to her providing answers, "we is providing the bar services in the New Year Eve party."
"Really?" Bina was surprised.
"Yes, got the notice this morning. I was sent here to plan the setting."
"Impressive", Nate added his voice just to be heard.
"Wanna have a look at the operational area?" Danny offered Bina with a complete disregard of Nate.
"Can I?!" Bina asked with excitement.
Nate rolled his eyes to the sight of their interaction.
"No, but yes." Danny winked at Bina, and grabbed her by her hand to go.
"Nate," Bina was drawing Nate's attention, "see you after lunch!"
Nate was watching the pair moving away.
Asshole.
