Swept away

“There’s the C-rank villain robot.” The man with the highest sensitivity in the party immediately spotted the C-rank robot from afar. Then, after hearing what their teammate is saying, all the party members directly looked in the direction that the man is pointing to. In front, not far from them, an enormous robot can be spotted. Coloured red entirely, different from the standard white villain robot, and it looked extremely dangerous. However, the group of five people doesn’t really care about it as they approached it nonchalantly. The C-rank robot eyes suddenly light up, and suddenly its chest area opened, showing up a cannon-like mechanism underneath. “Sh*t, it’s not looking good.” “What are you talking about? It’s just entering the battle mode.” The man with the highest sensitivity tried to remind his party, but they did not care about it as they shrug off his warning. The man with the highest sensitivity can feel that the C-rank robot is trying to do something as there’s a fluctuation of elements in the air. However, he couldn’t do anything since his party member doesn’t want to listen to him. “We better run, now!” “Since when you become this cowardly? If you want to run, then run away alone. However, it will only be the four of us that will pass the test after defeating the robot.” “What are you guys waiting for? Let’s step up the pace, unleash our signature move, and get done with it. Heh, he really runs away fast.” While the four people are going to face the C-rank robot, the man with the highest sensitivity runs away after sensing that the situation suddenly becomes dangerous. Each of the four people is preparing their best move as they are charging up their power. However, faster than the four of them that only have a D-rank for speed, the C-rank villain robot has finished its preparation. The cannon mouth on its chest glowed blue as the next moment, a surge of water comes out like a wave. “Not good!” “Quickly, get away from this place.” All the four people could see in front of them is a water wall, just like a tsunami. It comes quickly and hits them, canceling all of the preparation for their finishing move along the way. The four people quickly get swept by the current, and in the next moment, all of their bodies can be seen stranded weakly on the ground as they have been swept by the current. The man with the highest sensitivity at this point has been far enough to be unscathed from the attack. He can only shake his head, looking at his former teammates that are now unconscious. “I’ve told you. So please don’t blame me for not warning you. Now, I guess I should just find a normal D-rank villain robot to beat.” The four people are lucky that although the power of the C-rank robot far above their league, it unleashed a move that is more of a wide-area attack and has less concentrated power to cause lasting damage to them. Right now, they are only unconscious without suffering a severe injury. After all, the point of this hero examination test is to make the participants aware of the danger and differences between C-rank and D-rank, not to kill them, hurt them, or break their confidence. Moving back to where Max defeated the D-rank villain robot, Max is still dumbfounded at how easy it seemed for him to defeat the villain robot. In fact, Max is lucky as he got a quick judgment and move to prevent the villain robot from harming the hostage. The others who aren’t so fortunate barely managed to get away from minus point and make it back to square one. After knowing that their point has been minus one, they quickly tried their best to defeat the D-rank villain robot and earned one point to make it even. But, unfortunately, some who aren’t suited for battle could only flee and be satisfied with their minus one point or even get defeated and eliminated from the second stage of the hero examination. Max looked at the dummy hostage that is laying on the ground as it fell down to the ground alongside with the D-rank villain robot after getting its head blown away. “So, now I only have to bring this thing to the safety area, right?” Max approached the hostage, and after making sure that the D-rank villain robot isn’t moving anymore, he picked up the hostage and got out of the building. Then, he tried to remember the path to the safety area to bring back the hostage and earn himself another point. If it were successful, he would get two points, and another four processes of defeating the villain and escorting the hostage are enough to earn himself the hero license. “If I remember correctly, the safety area is that way.” Max carried the dummy hostage on his shoulder and walked towards the safety area. However, he never expected that there is an unexpected event before he even come close to the safety area. It is to be noted that Max’s best point is his sensitivity that could even make him detect Hyacinth after she put up her barrier. Just when Max moves towards the safety area, Max can feel that something isn’t right in his surroundings. However, Max believed in his own ability, so he stopped and looked around. The seaside village is full of buildings and pretty cramped, giving many spots for the robots and hostages to hide, but that isn’t all. Max can feel that there are a few people that are hiding nearby. It was strange that the people that Max detected isn’t moving to find a villain robot or escorting a hostage to gather points. He knows that the people nearby want to get their hero license, so what they are doing right now doesn’t make sense. In the right course of action, these people should be finding ways to earn their points. They shouldn’t be hiding since that won’t earn them any points at all. “What are they doing? They should be moving gather points. Unless…” Max suddenly has a wild thought crossed his mind. He didn’t know if it was plausible but what they are doing is undoubtedly strange.
