Second stage II

1077 Words
Not far from where Max is located, another person is facing the villain robot just like Max. However, this person didn’t think of the villain robot seriously, and it ends up blowing the hostages into pieces. “Participant 433, minus 1 point for letting the hostage killed.” “What?” Not only participant 433 that is dumbfounded, but everyone nearby could hear the announcement and feeling the same. “There is actually a minus grading on this test?” Max, who hears that, looked at the villain robot in front of him and could listen to an announcement telling him of his score. “Participants 777, 1 score for defeating a villain.” Max, who is pretty confident before taking the test, now need to think twice. The second stage of the hero examination test is not as simple as he thinks before. Firstly, the villain robot is D-rank. However, the people who are taking the test is overrating their own ability. Max can see from the damage that the robot caused to itself, which blown its own head into bits and pieces, if the attack hit the hostage, it will be killed immediately. More importantly, if the attack hits Max or any other person, it could cause damage from light to serious injury depending on the area being hit. For example, if the attack hits the head directly, the person could pass out immediately. As for the second stage of the test, Max didn’t hear from Kalina the details, but it seemed that the test this time is different. Not to mention that the appearance of the C-rank robot, the minus grading and the difficulty of the test is different. Elrisa, who is now taking a break from her MC job, looks at the screen with cameras installed all around the seaside village. “It seemed that the test this time is harder than usual. I believe that this must have something to do with what the old geezers from the association are talking about. The D-rank villain robot has been upgraded and become more ruthless and pack more power. I totally don’t have any complaint about it since it could make the hero examination’s participant a wake-up call that being a hero is not a joke.” This is something that has been bothering the hero association for quite some time. The people who have finished with their hero examination test and passed previously think that they are the strongest people on earth. Not a small amount of them is killed in action due to them being overconfident and caught unprepared by the villains that are more ruthless than their imagination. Just like what happened with the villain robot that Max meet earlier, which is more realistic to what’s going to happen when a hero meets a villain in the real world. A cornered villain won’t hesitate to use the hostage as a shield and to the point of killing the hostage as they have become desperate. The academy students might have learned about it, but for those independent test takers like Max and everyone else, they might not know about it. A lot of cases where the villains kill the hostage is happening in the real world. The United heroes association hoped to instil this knowledge to the hero examination participants by incorporating it in the second stage. Previously, the robot will only fight the participants and not caring about the hostage, but with those consideration taken in, the robot won’t hesitate to kill the dummy hostage. Of course, many protests might come after this test, but it was an excellent factor to be put into the grading of the hero examination. In the real world, if the robot villain and dummy hostage are swapped with the real villain and real hostage, it won’t only be minus 1 point that they experience. Instead, it will be the loss of one living person in the world. Secondly, many greenhorn heroes killed in their first mission for looking down on the villain. That is why the robot villain for the hero examination test is designed to be more ruthless. At least, in the hero examination test, they will get away with injuries. If it happened in the real world, when they let their guard down, the loss of their lives will happen when they get complacent. Max didn’t need anyone to tell him to realize this since he has experienced it first-hand when facing Bonio and Yann. Not to mention the loss of his parents along with countless other lives at the incident caused by Lindt and Vanya. Max knows better than anyone of the participants that the real villain is more ruthless, and killing the hostage isn’t even a big deal for them as they have done much worse. “Oh, I can’t believe that this batch of participants is really stupid. There are actually people that are going straight to fight against the C-rank robot.” On the screen that Elrisa watched right now, she could see five people moving towards a giant robot. The C-rank robot is more prominent and different than the rest of the ordinary D-rank robot, so it is easy to spot after looking around. “They aren’t even bothering to hide or set up any strategy. They just walked straight to it. Haha, such naivety, or should I call it stupidity?” The scene moved from the screen into reality as the group of five people who are approaching the C-rank robot is now walking towards the robot. “Are you sure that we’re walking in the right direction?” “Yes, why can’t you trust me. My sensitivity is D+, almost approaching C-rank. I can feel a strong fluctuation of elements that belong to the robot just straight in front of us. A battle might not be my strongest point, but tracking and detection is my forte.” “Alright, let’s trust him for now and keep straight. It’s still the beginning of the test anyway. So we still have a long time even if we missed our target, we could still look for it later.” The rest of the group nodded, and it didn’t take long before they found their target.
