Morning Training

Meanwhile, Giovanni and Max’s battle is leaning towards Max. It isn’t because Giovanni is losing out on close combat skills, but it is because Max could adapt to the rules of the tag and used his ability. Unlike Giovanni, who keeps triggering the bracelet alarm, Max periodically sends out a wind bullet to make a surprise attack at Giovanni. On some occasions, he is so close to breaking Giovanni’s balloon. “As expected from someone with A-rank and B-rank sensitivity. Max and Elica are able to use their ability quite proficiently despite the bracelet limitations. However, so far, none of them is questioning the reason for this training or what is the purpose of each one is. I guess they still have a long way to go in their reasoning and analytical skill. Is it because the heroes nowadays too reliant on their support?” Master Teshi can only sigh since, just like what he guessed, the heroes nowadays are having it way too convenient for themselves. If he should make a comparison example, the heroes back in the days are like soldiers stranded on a battlefield with a map and compass on hand. They need to think and analyze the situation before making a move. Heroes nowadays are like soldiers on a battlefield, but they have a command centre communicating with them, telling them of the situation. Honestly, it wasn’t a bad thing, but it could dull the heroes judgement and make them reliant on the information relayed by their support. With one side having a clear advantage of utilizing their ability on the game of tag, the result comes out eventually. The first one to have his balloon blown up is Iki. He is just too impatient and attacking Elica recklessly while she finally managed to send an ice bullet towards his balloon before his attack succeeds. Next, with the assistance of a wind bullet, Max managed to push Giovanni into a corner before finally blowing up his balloon. With added support from Elica and Max, Alan can only helplessly watched his balloon explode as he is surrounded from all sides by Kieran, Elica and Max. “Alright, the after-meal exercise is finished. You guys should rest for now and prepare to wake up early in the morning for another training session.” As the group only arrived at the place near noon, they didn’t have morning training today. Tomorrow will be when they have their morning exercise, so Master Tenshi decided to call it a day for now. Max was about to get back to his tent and wash up before he heard Iki spoke loudly. “Haha, this can be considered as a group trip. How about we play some games and chit-chat? After all, you can’t possibly be that tired, right?” What Iki said is normal since although they did a lot of things today that can be called training, it wasn’t too tiring or taking a toll on their body. Even Max feel that his regular training with his big sister, Kalina, is more exhausting. “Alright, I’m in.” Kieran also agrees with the suggestion as it is a good opportunity for him to build relationships and connections. Alan also nodded as Iki is already dragging him by putting his hand around his shoulder in the first place. Although Elica didn’t say anything, she isn’t moving away from the spot either. Giovanni also nodded in acknowledgement. Max also feel that this is an excellent time to make friends. After all, he doesn’t have many heroes friends. He can even count it in one hand. Marie, Yuna’s team, and that’s it. This is also a chance for him to find comrades that might help him or needed his help in the future. At first, Max thought that the conversation wouldn’t proceed well considering the apparent differences in their background, but that fear was groundless as they have a pleasant time, unlike his prediction. Iki’s spontaneous and energetic remark, Kieran’s skillful social skills, Giovanni voicing out his honest opinion, Alan continuous nodding in agreement, and Elica’s cold snort and humph every now and then. Accompanied by Max’s dull and normal response, the group bonded with each other nicely as they went to sleep after. Max feel blessed with the situation as he finds many good friends in a short time. Just a few days ago, they were competing with each other, but now they are talking to each other without any hurtful feelings. After all, they come from the same side, the heroes' side, and they have one common enemy, namely the villain from the evil mastermind. With a smile on his face, Max lay down inside his tent and closes his eye. Early in the morning, everyone is woken up by a loud noise. When they get out of the tent, Master Tenshi is standing there while hitting the back of a pot with a ladle. This is the source of the noise that wakes them up. “Everyone, wake up. You have five minutes to wash up your face and get ready. We will do our morning training now.” Hearing Master Tenshi’s command, they couldn’t refute to it, so they did as their told. “Here’re some bread for your breakfast. Eat that and follow me.” The group then walked behind Master Tenshi as they’re told. Right now, they are walking in the other direction from the creek where they practiced with the balloon. They headed towards the mountain and did a little bit of hiking before stopping at an open area. In there, they found several metallic balls. It seemed to be made from unique material as they had never seen metal in red color before. “So, for your morning training, we will be doing this. Do you see the balls behind me? They are made from a special alloy and could withstand extreme elements. Your training is to push them up the slope using your power. As for Alan, you’ll be using that blackball over there.” It is normal for Alan to have different training, just like yesterday, since he is the only one with body manipulation ability, unlike the other with element affinity.
