The aftermath

The chaos isn’t only happening in the hot newcomer competition stadium. It is happening through many branches that are being competed for in the Olympics. If there’s one thing that the United Heroes association forgot to do, it will be to turn off the live broadcast camera.

The people all around the world are seeing the Evil Mastermind terror attack on the Olympics, and they could see what is transpired after that. Some of the heroes managed to win their battle, yet not every battle went smoothly. There are even cases where the villains from the Evil mastermind won, and the heroes from the association are butchered live for the world to see.

The damage from this attack wasn’t only tangible in the number of heroes lost and intangible as the reputation of the United Heroes association will take a big hit from this. Of course, since the event is broadcast live, many heroes rise up to arms after seeing what is happening. Most of the A-ranked heroes that are near the vicinity immediately acted.

It was too bad that the hot newcomer stadium doesn’t have active heroes other than Elrisa supervising it. Most of the audience is a scout from agencies and companies looking for a new prospect or average audience rooting for a rising star.

Of course, one of the audiences that are watching the newcomer competition live from afar is Kalina.

“Max!”

The moment she senses something is wrong, she immediately departed from her workplace towards the stadium. It wasn’t that she doesn’t have confidence in Max. She just knows very well the terror that the evil mastermind could cause. After all, the accident where she lost her father is said to have the evil mastermind pulling strings behind the scene.

However, no matter how fast she is, she couldn’t arrive within fifteen minutes. When she has finally arrived, the battle has been concluded, and Chang’e is already gone from the stadium with Richard in tow.

On the way, she found Elrisa fallen unconscious in the parking lot, and she brought Elrisa with her. Using her ability, she summoned a healing plant that is acting as a medical pod. At least with this, Elrisa’s life is safe, and she will be prevented from hidden complications and harmed.

Entering the stadium, the situation was far from chaotic since the culprit for the mess is already gone from the crime scene. With her status as someone from the United Heroes association, Kalina was quickly assisted by the personnel on-site and brought to Max immediately.

“Max!”

Without any delay, she summoned her healing plants to heal Max and also Giovanni that is also fallen unconscious in the same place. After making sure that there won’t be any problem with them, Kalina then asked the personnel some questions.

“What happened here? Where are the people from the evil mastermind?”

“Child of Light and Air hero is fighting a newcomer from the evil mastermind in the stadium while Miss Elrisa brings another member of the evil mastermind somewhere else. Not long after, Child of Light and Air hero managed to win, although it couldn’t be called a flawless victory. As we are on our way to secure their body somewhere else, the woman from earlier shows up again and brings the boy with him. I am afraid; miss Elrisa is in trouble.”

“Don’t worry. I have treated Elrisa on the way. My plants are slowly bringing her to this place also. Alright then, since the situation here is under control, I will be checking the other stadium.”

The personnel then gives Kalina a salute as he watched her leave. Kalina, after all, is a precious member of the United Heroes association with healing abilities. Although she has retired from the front line and become a teacher, she knows that she will have many tasks to heal and assist the other venue since the hot newcomer competition is already secured. Once a hero, always a hero.

As Kalina moved from one venue to the other, she realized that most of the commotion has died down by now. The heroes managed to win in some places, and the evil mastermind members are subdued in place while some managed to run away. On the sites where the evil mastermind triumphed, only dead bodies could be found. They didn’t have any mercy for the heroes as they are nemeses, to begin with.

Since the bombing incident many years ago, this could be said one of the worse calamities where the United Heroes association suffered a significant loss. Kalina can only stare at the blue sky mindlessly.

“In the end, I’m still too weak. Father always said that I should help many people with my ability since it was a unique gift. However, look at what happened today. Is it because I’ve been away from the frontline for so long?”

After taking a few deep breaths and reflected on the situation, Kalina clenches her fist.

“This can’t go on. After all, I still have my mission to do. I will need to take missions and slowly hone my edge again.”

 With that, Kalina took out her phone and dialed a number that she hasn’t contacted for a long time. It didn’t even take two beeps before her call is answered.

“Wow, is the sun rising from the west today? How come our queen thorn contacted me this early?”

“Don’t joke around, Selly. You should know what is happening right now.”

“How can I not notice it. After all, thirty venues have been invaded by more than one hundred members of the evil mastermind.”

“Then, why are you saying that earlier?”

“Get a grip and chill, won’t you, Kalina. After all, the attack this time is a little bit special. I also didn’t do nothing since I’ve already done everything I could to minimize the casualties.”

Kalina knows very well what Selly could do as a support. She is just in a terrible mood and doesn’t want to waste any breath humoring Selly right now.

“Oh, let me add something that will definitely make you interested.”

“What is it? I don’t have any time to waste.”

“Today, that man is spotted.”

Hearing that, Kalina’s mood turned even worse. The ground around her even cracked due to the plant’s roots trying to surface as if a natural disaster is going to happen.

“Hey, chill down, won’t you. I’ve watched you from the camera, and any longer, that place will have new casualties and being destroyed.”

Selly’s word managed to calm her down slightly as the plant’s root returned to the ground.

“Cut the chase. Where is him?”

“He is in the boxing arena earlier.”

“Who’s overseeing that venue?”

“Drake, he is KIA.”

“Darn it!”

The usually calm and composed Kalina has lost her calm right now.

“Where is that man now?”

“He already escaped the area. I’m still tracking him. He’s moving towards the outskirts for now. Hey, you aren’t planning to chase after him alone, right? You don’t even know if he will gather up with the rest of the Evil mastermind members or not. Going there right now is only a suicide move. Cool your head down. Since I’ve tracked him now, I’ll make sure that he won’t escape my watch.”

“Selly, make sure you keep your words.”

“Don’t worry, thorn queen. I got this.”
