CHAPTER ONE Nothing is assured in life. Most times, we don't get to choose what life has to offer. It could be the good, the bad, and the ugly. No one gets to choose. No one gets to dictate. It just happens and whatever happens, we should be ready to accept. Bella,18th birthday has been one that she has highly anticipated. She is a grown woman now and for the first time, her father, the Alpha will be letting her throw a public party to celebrate her birthday with her friends Bella was very beautiful, probably the most beautiful girl in Las Vegas. She had well-shaped blue eyes that complimented her hair which was so long that it rested on her waist swaying from one corner of her waist to the other whenever she took her Usual evening walk around the Alpha's Castle. She was highly admired by all and sundry. She had a beautiful blend of Pink lower lips and dark upper lips that perfectly complimented her beauty and her elegant flawless figure was a perfect icing on the cake with her alluring smile that couldn't be ignored. That could be the reason why the Alpha had created strict rules around her to keep her safe. He wanted to preserve her daughter from the eyes of prey and all his enormous enemies that he inherited from his fathers. She was his only offspring and being overprotective is the only way that he knows how to preserve that which was his. She was dressed in a magnificent white gorgeous dress that revealed her curves, the same dress that her mum, the Beta Kora gave her as a present on her Seventeenth birthday. Beyond her expectations, her friends had gone the extra mile to plan a magnificent birthday party for her exceeding her wildest imagination while bringing all her fantasies to pass. It was a Cocktail all-night party where fifty people were present. A party specially reserved for the Princess and her friends. Her best friend and right-hand woman, Ethella was there too to cheer her up as always. Whenever Ethella is around, she is unimaginably engulfed with an unusual strength that helps her to enjoy the moment. As an introvert which her father, the Alpha had turned her into by his regimited lifestyle, she usually is not able to sustain a long time with a lot of people. You could say she had “Crowd anxieties" or whatever it is called. “That's your Special seat, there," Ethella said pointing at the space where a seat had been reserved for her. Holding her hand to hand, she accompanied her as she walked into the hall as everyone cheered the princess. “With a standing Ovation, Can we welcome, the princess of the Silver Crest Kingdom, the daughter of the Great Alpha" Jerry announced as everyone stood to cheer her. She walked majestically to her seat. “The Reason for the Celebration is here now, So let the Party begin” Jerry was specially chosen by the Royal household to anchor the Princess's birthday party. He is a 19-year-old man that you could call the “The life of the party" because he knew how to bring life to every occasion. The highlight of the occasion was the Unprecedented Birthday cake that was given to the princess by her friends. It comprised three layers with a unique topping that has the carving of her beautiful face on it One that she will not forget in a short while. The taste too left an indelible memory. “Now, it's time to present your gift to the Princess," Jerry announced. Everyone had something to present to Bella and as they walked to her to present their gifts, she reciprocated with a warm hug while Ethella helped her carry her gifts. She was curious to see what each one had given her but she couldn't because they were enormous. She had a penchant for gifts and that may be the reason why she treasured the beautiful gown her mum gifted her the previous year to wear to her most treasured 18th birthday party. There was something unique about Elena's gift. It felt like an Iron but seemed to have sharp edges. She waited to come last to present her gift and as Bella hugged her, she whispered some sweet words into her eyes that sounded like “......Even in the next world." “Let's have the beautiful princess give her concluding address…." Jerry announced as he accompanied the Princess to the stage. Apart from Bella's beauty, she was fluent in her words. She had a good command of her language with the right semantics and pronunciations that always left the audience gazing fixated at her and begging in their hearts that she never stop talking. As usual, her address left everyone cheering with smiles as she delivered precise words of appreciation mixed with a few pieces of humor that excited everyone. Jerry beckoned that the drinks and food be served and the music blasts could go higher than it was. It was an exciting moment for everyone and for some people who came with a party partner, it was more exciting. Ethella was the only one allowed to come closely with whatever was served the princess. While she entered the Chambers to get the special wine for the princess, she saw Elena coming out of the same place. Nothing struck her mind since she was the only one who knew where the princess's wine was kept. She walked straight to fetch some wine for the princess and realized that the seal of the wine had been broken. She had an alternative. Another wine that she had specially reserved till they get to the Castle but since she was unsure of the other one, she decided to serve the special wine then. Unknown to her, a few moments before she stepped in, Elena had perceived that a Special reservation had been made for the Princess and she went in to poison it even though the Special wine too had been injected with some poisonous substance. Elena partnered with a few of the other friends at the party who had been secretly Jealous of the Princess. All attention was on her and everyone revered her. So when they heard that the Alpha, Alpha Daph had permitted her for the first time to have a public party, they plotted to maximize that opportunity to take her life. Ethella saw all the signs, especially that of the broken seal, but she probably trusted her friends and assumed it was an issue from the people who delivered the wine. The party attendants were beginning to go home as the party officially came to a close after the drinking and eating. The Party location was a few miles to the Alpha's Castle and by instruction, Bella Instructed her driver not to come looking for her. She wanted to walk home in the company of her friends and feel what it was like not to be driven around. That was an unusual decision as the Princess was never allowed to be seen Walking by herself with just a few friends. “This Wine tastes so nice" Bella complimented the wine as she took a few sips. “Yes, I specifically made an order for it," Ethella emphasized. “It tastes like a dissolved Caramel," Bella said. “Thank you, for giving me a wonderful memory today," Bella added. “Anything for you, my princess," Ethella answered while hugging her. “I will have to be on my way now, I got a call to be at home immediately, Elena, Lily, and other friends here will accompany you whenever you are ready to return to the Castle" " she added after she shared a few moments with her. “It hasn't been a bad idea at all trying out a public party. Today is simply the best day of my life" Bella soliloquized as she enjoyed every tip of her drink while hoping in her heart that the Alpha would let her do something like this again. “I will surely do this again" Going down the drink while nodding to the blast of music, her eyes became blurry and she could barely see clearly, her head became too heavy for her neck and she laid down to rest her head. “Look over there…" Ethan on the other side of the party hall beckoned her friend, Lily, to the direction where Bella sat. “She is tipsy now, it's time…" They hurriedly dumped their drinks and with a signal, Invited Elvis and two other friends who were also waiting at another corner. The Party hall was already getting empty except for the few people who either wanted to hang around a little more or had a partner to spend time with. “Princess Bella, are you alright?" Junia said while shaking the princess.
