Chapter 7

Fleg

Our swords clashed together and sweat poured down our face and body as we engaged in an intense battle of sword fighting. I swung my sword forward with unimaginable strength and I knew that my opponent won’t be able to bear the force. The sound my sword made when it hit with the other sword caused a ghost of a smile to appear on my lips. My opponent fell onto his back breathless and defeated.

‘’Get up.’’ I lend Jake a hand and he leapt to his feet.

‘’That was intense!’’ Jake exclaimed still out of breath. I stood there calm with no sign of tiredness shown and narrowed my eyes down on him. Images of what took place last night flood my brain. Jake now sat on the ground with his legs crossed. I squatted down and bend my head to look him straight in the eyes. My serious eyes pinned him to the spot. I tilted my head to the side. ‘’Is there something that you would like to apprise me of?’’ I interrogated. Jake knitted his eyebrows and something flashed in his eyes. He knew what I was asking him about.

In a flash I gripped the back of Jake’s head in a harsh grip. ‘’You don’t want to see me unleash all of my anger on you. Now, tell me what the news is. What are you hiding? Or else my sources will find it out for me and you will suffer.’’ I snarled and gritted my teeth waiting for him to answer.

Jake turned pale and I saw him swallow in fear. ‘’I swear of the assassin world my master I have not done anything to betray you.’’ My expression hardened and I inhaled in a breath. Swearing upon the assassin world meant that what you utter is completely the truth. He continued to speak, ‘’Alex came to me last night and he looked pretty shaken up. He had news about Mario’s men. He told me that he saw him dealing drugs at the port.’’ Jake spoke in a hushed voice but I heard him clearly. He bowed his head down and ran a hair through his hair.

A muscle in my jaw ticked. ‘’Son of a b***h!’’ I knew that whatever Jake uttered was the truth and he would never lie to me. I trusted him more than any of my sources and any of my men. Jake’s body language showed that there was something else as well. ‘’What is it? There is more to this isn’t it?’’ I couldn’t stop the agitation that I felt in my entire body. It was causing a h*******t inside me.

‘’Alex also informed me that Mario is perhaps out there finding the daughter of Master Mathew so that he can kill her and end our existence.’’ I sucked in a breath after hearing that.  Master Mathew was my master who taught me all that I am today. He was slaughtered by the enemies who wanted to end our world. He died saving his daughter. No one knows where his daughter is or where he hid her before he embraced death but if Mario gets his hand on her and kills her. He will end the legacy of the assassin world.  

I will never let him get close to the girl! He will have to go through me to get to the girl. I will turn this world upside down and Mario will die a death that will cause even the Satan to cower in fear.

‘’We need to find out about the girl.’’ We had to find her before Mario did. ‘’Call Thomas and tell him that Fleg has asked for him. I want him here in an hour.’’ I walked out of the training room and went up to my room for a shower. I went to my study room and took out a book to read. After a few seconds of reading I grabbed a glass of drink and took a sip. The coolness from the drink calmed down my senses. I heard voices from the living room and that was my cue to leave the study room.

Tom was here.

I entered the living room and grinned at the sight of Tom. He had short hair and blue eyes. Tom was an expert in finding about someone’s where about. He can track anyone from any corner of the world. ‘’Good to see you again, Tom. I knew you would come at my call.’’ I patted Tom on the back and gave him a short hug. ‘’Who would dare defy your orders?’’ Tom uttered with smiling eyes. He was a free spirit and very different from all the men who were associated with me. We chatted for a while and then I turned serious. Tom detected the change in my mood. ‘’I want you to track a girl.’’ I was silent for a while. ‘’She is Master Mathew’s daughter. Mario’s men are trying to find her and Mario plans on killing her. We have to find her before he gets to her.’’

This came as a shock to Tom. He shook his head and pinched his nose. ‘’What is her name? It isn’t easy to track a nameless person.’’ Tom looked at me with so many questions stored in his eyes. ‘’Don’t worry about that. Jake will travel to Hong Kong where our dear master lived and he will  find out her name. Master Mathew’s brother lives in the mansion now and he will provide Jake with all the information.’’ I delivered the plan to him. Tom nodded understanding the plan. ‘’Till then track Mario’s every move. I need to see what he is up to.’’ I ordered and left him to do his job.
