A date with the cruel Billionaire
I could feel my heart beating away as she looked up to me. It felt like pain like I had eaten from the dirt.
“What’s there to explain? You’re with that boy, the one whose family made you the pillar of yours instead of your father. The one who made you useless with your wealth? “, she walked towards me slowly, clutching her fist with the note in it.
“It was to save the company, Mom. You have to understand my plight”, I said, looking at her teary eyes.
“You are just like your father, that’s why you can never understand the difference between pain and pleasure”, she hit me hard on the face before retiring to her room.
My sorrow had turned into a mixture of pure anger and hate. I was dumbfounded, nothing was working my way and I was portrayed by the one person I adored apart from my father.
“I didn’t betray you, Mother; you just don’t want to take the blame by putting it all on me,” I stormed out, slamming the door as I exited our apartment.
The drive to Washington was as stressful as usual. It wasn’t long, nor was it short, but for me, it was a hell of a ride. Thinking while driving really is unsafe and stressful.
“I’m here to see Nicholas,” I said, pulling up in front of his mansion gate. The security was as tight as always. Rummaging my vehicle like it was nothing all in the name of keeping that half-sized jerk safe.
“You can come in, madam. He’s waiting for you in the living room.” Lilian, his Butler, walked towards the security, giving out orders, which I think were more disappointing to the ear as they groaned right after.
I drove into his parking lot, and as suspected, the cars were all premium-model cars. Cars that were produced uniquely with strong engine power and attractive colors. Mostly sport cars though, but Jeeps were in excess.
“Right this way, madam,” Lilian said as I exited the vehicle. She was just like me, only that she had much more curves and a much lighter-toned skin than me.
“Sir Nicholas, she’s here,” she alerted him as she knocked on the door. There was no response, and I was just so pissed off. I heard no footsteps, nor did I hear a come-in. He was quite full of himself as usual.
I was about to slam my hands on the double slide door when it automatically opened up. The sight of Nicholas sitting on the couch in shorts and innerwear was quite the show. I couldn’t take my eyes off his full figure; he was just so handsome, and… why am I praising this half-sided breed?
“I’m here as you requested; now what?” I asked as I made myself comfortable on his couch.
“I didn’t ask you to sit yet,” he stammered, gazing as I stared at the boring Italian series he was watching.
“The contract stated that I have to act like your wife so I am. Anything you have belongs to me according to the marriage principles “, I said, placing my right leg on my left in a reliefing way.
“I’m starting to think you’re using this to your advantage. “, He let out, shifting his body closer to me.
“What can I say? We are enemies, Arch nemesis, we never agree to each others plight so why should I stop now?”, I asked.
“Fine, we’ll do it your way but just remember, If you fail to do your part you owe me much more than the money in those cases”, he declared.
“You don’t need to worry about that. I’m a master in this game”, I assured. The sound of a chuckle brought my attention to him.
“What, you think I can’t hold a man or play pretense wife well?”, I asked.
“You are really bad at this. According to your records, you haven’t dated a single man, nor have you brought home a suitor,” he chuckled even louder and ended it with an intimidating smirk.
The feeling of hatred grew in me once more, and I wanted to smack that smirk right off his face. This made me realize how annoying he could be at the same time. We were direct opposites; we had nothing in common except our hate for each other, which grew with every meeting.
“So where’s your dad?” I thought you said we were going to meet with him today?” I questioned, seeing how serene the environment was.
“You aren’t meeting my original family today. You’re meeting my business family instead. The co-founders of the Gates Corporation, it’s a necessity as my pretense wife,” his voice fainting as he heads upstairs to change his outfit.
“The co-founders of Gates Corporation have arrived, Sir Nicholas,” Lilian called out as she announced their presence.
I didn’t have to worry knowing it would take quite some time for them to waltz in and take a seat, but that thought was soon short-lived when the doors opened up.
“Good day, Monsieur, Mademoiselle,” I said, welcoming them into the house with my intoxicating French language.
“Are you Nicholas’s new personal assistant?” the blonde-looking lady asked as she took her seat opposite me.
Personal assistant? Can’t people rate me any higher? I mean, it’s not easy to be the CEO of Thornfield Corporations in the midst of other companies.
“I’m not his personal assistant; I’m something of such sort,” I stuttered, looking at their anxious faces, which couldn’t stop thinking about my identity.
“Why are you still standing there, go in and call your boss for us.”, The dark man by her right said with his head held up high.
“Oh about that, I don’t have the permission to brush that up. He’s busy with something.”, I let out. They weren’t satisfied by my reply from the look on their faces. They wanted more, far more than my expectations.
“You this mere assistant talking back at us. Who exactly do you think you are?”, the blonde woman shot up in rage.
“She’s my wife”.
