Someone To Live For

1012 Words
I suddenly felt the urge to stop V.  "I'm sorry," I said. "No, I am," he replied. "I was taking advantage of the situation." I knew that wasn't all true but I didn't say anything back. I got dressed and headed back to Caligo. I realized at the moment that I wasn't as strong as my parents but I was going to stop being this scared little girl. I wanted to show everyone that they needed to stop treating me as such. I hated Cloud for lying to me and for practically saying he didn't want me but I had to hear him out and know why. As soon as we landed, I ran to him. He was sitting alone on his throne. His intense gaze fell on me and I almost forget what I was doing there. He brushed his white hair back and stood up. "WHY?" I cried out. "Why don't you want me?" "I never said I didn't," Cloud answered gently. "Your mother gave me her trinity spirit so I could look out for you and be with you but I don't deserve you. I killed my happiness a long time ago." "Is that why? You think you don't deserve to be happy because you killed your family," I asked. "Alexandria, I have lived a long life now, I devoted myself to your mother out of respect and true friendship but she knew how much I still wanted to die for what I did," he explained to me. "It's hard to live each day knowing what I did. She wanted to give me her trinity spirit so I could finally have someone to live for but." "But you don't want that," I added. " Or me." "I'm scared," he said softly. "I don't want anyone to take it away. If I accept my fate and choose this then I can't and won't let it go. EVER!" I couldn't breathe. I knew Cloud was dedicated and a true friend to my mother so I get it. If we decided to go with tradition, then we have to marry and if he and I are one then he won't want me to get hurt or worse. I know how devoted he can be for a friend that means it would just be that much more for a love. My cheeks were getting hot. "I think I need you," I told him. "All these years I just wanted you to like me but now I know I need you." "Selene told me her plan since the day you were born so I tried to avoid you all this time," he told me. He came closer to me and then kneeled down in front of me. "Alexandria, I will be by your side and protect you until the day I die. I will be your other half and be loyal and we will never be apart."  I went over to Cloud and helped him up. "You are equal to me. I will accept you and stay by your side always," I told him. I grabbed his hand and led him to my chambers. I went over to get something to sleep in and then came back to get on my bed. "Get in," I said. "I can't," Cloud said hesitantly. "I am your king, now get on the damn bed," I demanded. Cloud smiled and took his boots off and set his weapons down and got on the bed. "I thought we were equal," he smiled. "We are but I am still a king," I said. I suddenly felt this energy flow through me. "What is it?" Cloud asked. "It might not be the best thing to say to you while you're on my bed but I just felt my father," I told him. "I could feel his presence." "Your right, I definitely didn't want to hear that but that's good isn't it?" I smiled at Cloud and nodded. Cloud was on the other end of the bed so I crawled over to him and laid my head on his chest. He began to slowly caress my hair and I drifted off to sleep. I had a nightmare that night. The crawlers and dark spirit holders had attacked Callisto and all of my people were dying. They cried out for me and asked me to help them. I woke up and was crying myself. I looked over and Cloud shot up from the bed. "Are you okay?" Cloud asked. "Yeah, I had a bad dream," I told him. "I'm okay, I think we should go back to Callisto." "Are you sure?" "Yes," I told him. "I need to be with my people." "Okay," Cloud said as he wrapped his arms around me and laid me back to sleep. I felt myself fall back to sleep quickly. We then went back to Callisto the next day, I knew the people were unsure of what was happening and scared of my recent actions. With Paul and Maze's help, I decided to address my people. I didn't want to do it at the steps of the palace but at the heart of the city. "I Alexandria, your phoenix king, apologize for the recent events that took place during the trinity spirit festival. The crawlers and dark spirit holders have returned but I will protect our home and our galaxy. I will not rest until I have eliminated this new threat. I also want to take this time to tell all of you that we have a trinity spirit." I turned to look at Cloud and gestured to him to step forward. "He and I will lead this galaxy back to its peaceful time and continue what my father and mother built." The crowd cheered and I felt better. I felt this weird pain in my chest. I turned to leave with my men and then looked at Cloud. "I know where they are."  We got into a ship with an army and Cloud by my side. It was time to face this enemy and stop them.
