Life for the young

It’s late at night in TUT’s Kollegehof residence, a young couple is gazing at a movie in bed, with Sipho’s small laptop on top of the table which is placed parallel to his bed. They are watching a romantic movie per Rachel’s request, she knows that she’s always been a sucker for love, a quality that even she knew as a weakness before she met Sipho. Even their narrative was fairly typical, two young people meet and start dating, in her mind it was the perfect love story.  They were streaming a movie online, from a website named 123 movies, usually they can’t decide on what movie to watch as they enjoy different genres, Sipho likes thrillers, something about murder mysteries always intrigues him, but tonight’s decision was mutual, he knew what Rachel would like to watch and he thought it will also help in introducing the mood needed for his ulterior motive of how the night must end. Rachel knew what idea was roaming through Sipho’s mind on the days that he didn’t mind watching these saucy romantic movies, she knew that these steamy scenes gave him the courage to make moves, and oh ’boy she couldn’t wait, to see the results of the courage he would derive from this film, for according to her friends ,“THIS MOVIE IS MOLTEN HOT LAVA!”.   At the most critical moment in the movie, the screen switched from showing a steamy scene of two people kissing, holding and touching to a news room, with a reporter sitting behind a wooden desk. “What the f**k”, the couple screamed ragingly inside their thoughts, and as if they had just heard one another, they gazed at each other, giggled, then returned their attention back to the screen.The reporter changes his gesture from being calm and loose with his two hands spread apart, to being serious and focused, his hands unite while his eyes stir straight into the camera, then he starts addressing his audience. “We interrupt this program as ordered by the minister of our province, to warn you of a crook that roams the streets, He calls himself a man of god, a “pastor” who claims to have dedicated his life to servitude”. Before the reporter continued further, a block appeared in the left hand side of George Craig (Reporter), it was a picture of the crook he spoke about. “It’s quite funny”, Sipho thought, this guy does not look like any pastor that he has ever seen, he looks more like the guy at the mall who tries to sell everybody counterfeit products rather than quality.
