I laid down on the examination table and swallowed hard at the overhead robotic arms.
This is crazy. I'm on an alien ship...and I'm letting them implant something in me.
Do I have a choice So far, they were friendly enough but was that because I did whatever they wanted? No need to punish the good little human if he complied , right?
I thought about my favorite movies. Some had a benevolent Federation where different species worked in harmony. Others had lizard people that harvested humans for food and slaves.
Which one am I in?
The overhead medical blades, needles and saws did little to reassure me I was in a nicer universe.
I steadied my breathing while a metal arm shot a soft purple light beam over me. Trevah held out his arm .'' Grab it?" I did, and something I couldn't describe rippled over me. Almost like a soft wave of heat and the smell of cinnamon. Maybe plants as well...almost minty.
Trevah's gaze steadied on me. His expression was mostly unreadable . Although there was something serious about his pressed lips and stare. After an uncomfortable silence he spoke . " We have studied your biology extensively ...."
KLar let out a dismissive murmur ." Is it so? The one that observes the primitives also created the process? And here I believed it was me."
"KLar's Dara... beta like me. Science class." He leaned in and whispered ."His Alpha doesn't give him enough. Explains the hostility I'm sure."
"That's the job of the Femeni. I have my intellectual pursuits ."
Trevah winked although he hesitated. I speculated he wondered if that was the right gesture. My smile told him it was.
"Klar ,won't tell you but things may get a little weird." I nodded even though my heart was raced. I wished Melk could have been here although I wasn't sure why. Still the warm, firm hand from a smiling redhead was nice.
''Your planet doesn't...." His voice trailed off. "You don't have a word. We called them gleps." He held his finger and thumb just barely apart ." Imagine very tiny machines you can't see."
"Nanites," I said.'' Microscopic robots that can rearrange matter at the molecular level."
Both men looked at me although only one smiled. Trevah blinked several times. "I uh...I must update my files. We were led to believe you dot have this technology."
"We don't... not really. There are scientists experimenting with it, but I read about it in a story. The nantes ate people and turned them into grey goo. Then the rest of the planet.''
Klar spoke." they could be programmed to do that if you so wish.''
"Leave him alone." Trevah thinned expression then turned into a smile. "Well that's impressive . We've only had that technology for two hundred years of you rotations. Well , we'll use the nantes to remove your clothing. Then Klar will grow an implant inside you. It's the same process we'll use for... you know."
To make me fertile.
Trevah spoke,'' When the buzzing starts just -"
"It's starting ,"said Klar.
Trevah's nostrils flared, but he said nothing. Instead he held my hand tight and did a quick thumbs up. Away from my hand, a feeling of 'invisible ants' on my skin and wet sand grew over my body. The examination table pulsed with purple and white light while my clothes 'melted' away. No pain, heat or anything bad. As if my clothing was mad from fine sugar.
"We reuse as much as possible on this ship," said Trevah. "Keeps things efficient .''
I laid there staring up and saw Trevah's gaze dart down. " Oh...I apologize for my earlier remark. I don't think ' little one' is appropriate anymore."
My grin was wide. I was small and slender but not everywhere . I've had a few blessings in my life and my c**k was one of them. Although ,I suppose it was the other men that were blessed.
yeah, like there's been many of them.
Trevah studied my expression and swallowed .''Do you trust me?"
I was about to ask when the laboratory lights dimmed. Although I suspected that wasn't reality. up I looked into a pulsating tunnel white images of different worlds passed by. Some were globes of near ice, others oceanic. A few pure lava. Others were close to Earth with a variety of desert, ocean' and forest. Names I shouldn't know came;Klavoh, Jeh, Revelac and more. Each one was the name of the planet.
Planets faded into images of ships in space. Large crystalline ships like chandeliers, attacked blocky, grey mental ships. Within I could 'see' short , squat reptilian aliens. Various battles played with the Volardi winning more as the war drew on.
I didn't so much see but sense The Glooms hopelessness . more battles were lost ,and the Volardi didn't make peace. The boot of the Volardi came down hard. They made sure enemies never hurt their empire again. Volardi ships destroyed more of the enemy. Over the next several months the Volardi approached the center worlds.Gloom agents released a virus. They couldn't win on the battlefield , but they could in their laboratories.
It meant to kill all Volardi or enough for the remaining Gloom. The Volardi were the heart of the empire. O there's would say the support beam. Once they were gone, the other races would follow.
Whethwe or not the virus succeeded was debatable . Only the omegas were susceptible . Over ninety-five percent died after weeks of agonising torture. The last handful were saved by putting them in isolation until treatment was found. By then the damage was done. Without their child bearers ,the empire could continue -at lease not with the Volardi .
Even the empire would continue , the Volardi wanted to survive .A proud warrior race might die in battle. That would be honourable . Instead they would live until old age took them with no children to carry on the legacy . Everyday, death would claim another until there was no more left.
Images of scouts ships streaking across the galaxy followed . From Volardi prime and every colony they searched the stars for genetic answers while scientists and doctors searched within the labs. Experiments with member races created horrible mutations . Attempted to clone omegas resulted in viable offspring ,yet the new omegas died soon after.
