Chapter one Chapter one... "What is Frank doing here?" My mum mrs Adams asked, it's happens that my mum came back from work early today. "Can't you talk anymore?" She asked getting more angry, she has always hated frank, but why does my mum hates my boyfriend so much? Why? I heard a resounding slap across my face, my mum slapped me and I fell to the ground and began wailing like a baby. "Mum pls. ." Frank tried to interfere. "Don't mum me, do I look like your wretched poor mother?" I felt hurt when I heard my mum said that to frank, Frank looks hurt too. He moved closer to help me up where I fell. "Stay away from my daughter and leave my house, I don't ever want to see your miserable face in my daughter's life again" Frank approached the door. "Over my dead body should the both of you end up as couple" she turned to me. "Go get my files from the bedroom, shameless child" Frank stood at the door for some seconds, he was ashamed of himself, or should I call it self pity. After some seconds, he left. I went into my mum's bedroom and brought her files to her, I turned to leave but she called me back. "Patricia" she called calmly, I stood still but never answered, I was still hurt. "Your father will be ashamed of you wherever he is, may his soul rest in peace" she took out her handky and sniffed into it. "Really?" I asked turning to face her. "I think if dad was here, he would have understood me better, he always understands me, he..." "Am trying to be the best mum for you, you are a well educated lady, why can't you see my reasons? That young man isn't your class, he is an uneducated poor wretched kid who hardly feeds himself" she said convicly, I was speechless for some seconds, I couldn't believe my mum could say such hurtful words about someone, simply because we are rich doesn't mean we should see the less privileged as loosers. "That's my decision to make mum, not yours" I said boldly to her greatest surprise, she turned and I could see the shock expression in her eyes, without waiting for her response, I went into my bedroom, pack some of my stuffs and came out. I picked up my car keys from the table and my two phones. "You seized to be my daughter the moment you step your foot out of that door" she threatened. I took a deep breath, without saying a word, I left the building, I got into the car my dad bought for me on my 18th birthday, that was five years ago, at least I still have the sum of 420k in my account, I drove out of the compound. ************* I drove into Frank's small apartment, he came out when he heard the horn of my car, I could see many questions on his face. "Babe" I called sadly, he came to me and hugged me tightly that almost squeezed the life out of me. I heard him sniffed on my shoulders, I held his face with my palms and examined them, his eyes were bloodshot, he has been crying. "Am sorry babe, for all the insults and..." He explained. "I understand if you don't want me to stay" I said and turned to leave but he swifted me off my feet and I chuckled. "I don't want to lose you, I want you to stay, I love you" he smiled and kiss my forehead before taking me inside. ************* Am sitted in the parlour with frank when my phone rang. It was Mrs Gladys, my mum's younger sister, she has a daughter who is almost my age mate. My mum must have told her everything, I hesitated before picking the call. "Hello, Good afternoon ma" I greeted, but instead, she ignored my greetings and started ranting. "So you now have wings to talk back at your mum in a mannerless way and walk out isn't it?, I have always known that you are a useless and corrupt child, so shame......" I hanged the call on her. She was the one that poisoned my mum's mind about my boyfriend, she doesn't like seeing me happy, or is she envious of my relationship? That I can't tell. "Just ranting like always" I heaved a sign and placed my head on his broad chest, just then, my rang again, I checked the caller and it was her, I pressed the power button and switched off my phone.
