Chapter 16
Jake eyed last night’s texts. He didn’t call Xavier like he promised but instead texted him that he hadn’t booked his flight back and needed a day or two. This morning he texted him but Xavier hadn’t texted back so he called and only got his voice mail message. He made a mental note to try again later.
He started Elena’s Toyota Camry. Before he backed out, he double-checked to make sure he had the Totten Trust paperwork. He knew once he left, it would be harder to fix any errors after he set up for Chel with Elena as a trustee so he sat there and reviewed the information. Technically, Elena could pull out the whole seventy-five thousand if she wanted to but he knew Elena wouldn’t. They hadn’t gotten along in the last few years but they knew they both loved their daughter more
