Mihaela’s POV
The Goddamn ripper hung up on me.
I glared at the now blank screen and screamed in frustration. Everything was going so well but in the last moment he had to do something stupid and mess up the whole plan.
I could feel my claws elongating and my eyes turning golden when Uncle Cassius barged into my room. He was panting heavily as he said,
“Th-they are…”
“I know! They are retreating but tell the packs to keep fighting. Let the rippers be damned. We don’t need them.”
His face became pale as he shook his head rapidly, angering me even more.
“What does that mean?”
His terrified orbs looked into mine as he said,
“Th-the Kin-kings have got-gotten hold on the Alp-alphas who were supporting us. Everything is over. They won.”
My eyes became wide at his words.
