Chapter 1: “Swipe Right to Trouble”
Luna was lying on her bed, staring at the ceiling. It was a Saturday night, and she had nothing to do. Her friends were out partying, her family was watching TV, and she was just… bored.
She sighed and grabbed her phone. Scrolling through social media didn’t help. Everyone seemed to be living their best lives, while she was stuck in her room wearing pajamas and eating leftover fries.
Her best friend, Mica, messaged her.
Mica: “Girl, you need RP. Trust me.”
Luna: “RP? Like roleplay?”
Mica: “Yes! It’s fun. You pretend to be in a relationship. No drama, just some spice.”
Luna raised an eyebrow. She had heard of RP dating before, but never tried it. It sounded silly. But maybe silly was exactly what she needed.
She downloaded the app Mica recommended. It was called “HeartChat.” The interface was cute—pink hearts, chat bubbles, and lots of emojis.
She made a profile:
Name: Luna
RP Role: Soft but savage
Bio: “I send memes and mixed signals.”
She didn’t expect much. Maybe a few weird messages. Maybe a guy pretending to be a vampire. But within minutes, she got a ping.
“Hey, kitten 😏”
—Ace
She clicked on his profile. His picture was blurry, but he had a confident smile. His bio said:
Name: Ace
RP Role: Flirty troublemaker
Bio: “I break hearts and send good morning texts.”
Luna laughed. She replied.
Luna: “Kitten? That’s new.”
Ace: “You look like someone who deserves a cute nickname.”
Luna: “You don’t even know me.”
Ace: “Then let me find out.”
And just like that, they started chatting.
Ace was funny. He sent memes, flirty jokes, and random questions like:
“If you were a dessert, what would you be?”
“Do you believe in love at first chat?”
“What’s your favorite way to waste time?”
Luna found herself smiling at her screen. She hadn’t felt this entertained in weeks.
They started RP-ing a fake relationship. Ace called her “baby,” “love,” and sometimes “queen.” Luna played along, teasing him back.
Ace: “If we were on a fake date, I’d order you dessert first.”
Luna: “Why?”
Ace: “Because you look like you deserve something sweet.”
She rolled her eyes but couldn’t stop smiling.
They talked every day. Morning chats, midnight calls, even voice messages. Ace had a deep, smooth voice that made her heart flutter.
One night, Luna asked:
“Why are you so good at this?”
“At what?”
“Making me feel like this is real.”
Ace paused before replying.
“Maybe because it is.”
Luna stared at the message. Her heart skipped.
Was this still RP? Or something more?
