Happy Birthday to me. Today I officially turn 18. Although today should be a happy day it isn’t. I’m packing the last of my things to move to a small cabin on the outskirts of the pack lands for the next 2 weeks till I graduate then I plan on moving to the human town 20 miles from this goddess forsaken pack. Alpha Jackson was at least kind enough that I can finish high school but what was the use. The rest of the pack kids hated me except my 2 best friends.

My parents took off as soon as they heard me get up this morning which hurt a lot more than I thought it would. I'm still their daughter. Whenever I get down I think bad to that terrible day. To the fear my friends and I felt.

 Before I shifted that day I heard my wolf tell me to not be afraid. At first I thought I was going crazy cause I heard the voice but then I felt this calm come over me and that's when I shifted. My wolf took over for me and took down all 3 rogues. When I shifted back Alpha Jackson, my father, and the pack warriors were all there. I figured they would be proud of me, because I had protected my friends and myself but no I got scornful looks and that's when I got called a freak. 

I've dealt with it for 10 years now. It will never change but I know I'm meant for something special. The Moon Goddess has told me. I will keep strong for my friends, for myself, and hopefully soon for my mate.

I have so many boxes. All of my clothes are packed and 2 huge boxes of nothing but shoes. My parents may not love me anymore but at least they gave me some money to get things I needed. I got boxes full of books most of which is romance and a few boxes of momento's that my father gave me, when he loved me. {Why does it hurt so much}. 

       Since it was Saturday I got help from Allison and Jacob. My parents didn’t even acknowledge me today. I had at least hoped they would wish me a Happy Birthday. 

It's ok Allison baked me my favorite cake, a pineapple upside down cake with chunks of pineapple in the cake. She made me a cake every year since we turned 13. My parents stopped throwing me parties and I wasn't allowed to go to any of kids parties. The parents didn't want me around. 

I was getting sentimental. I missed how my life was. I missed my parents love. I just wish they could see me and see that I wasn't an abomination like they say I am. Jacobs voice broke me out of my sad mood.

 “Aaliyah do you want these photos packed?” I don’t even know why I keep them. I guess holding on to happier times.  

“Yeah Jacob put them in the box at the end of my bed.” 

“No problem Liyah” I chuckled at that nickname. He couldn’t say my full name as a kid so he just started calling me Liyah.

 “So are you happy to live on your own and out of this s**t hole?” Yes my best friend Allison did not have a filter and I didn’t blame her one bit. After how my parents treated me she lost all respect for the Beta family except for me. Her and Jacob were my family. 

We spent the better part of the morning finishing packing my bedroom. Allison and me joked about all the sleepovers we used to have. Jacob kept bugging us about what we talked about at these sleepovers and I couldn't resist.

"Well Jacob Allison here said that said that Ewan McGregor was hotter than Mario Lopez but I said the opposite." 

Allison glared at me while i started laughing cause Jacob was growling about being more of a man than both celebrities. Its always been fun getting Jacob going. 

          “So guys I think I have everything packed we just have to load all these boxes in Jacobs truck.”

 “Ok but then we are going to have a movie night and chow down on pizza. Deal?” I laughed at Allison she always turned work into pizza and movie night.

 “Deal”

"Hey Liyah, me and Jacob got you a little something for your birthday. I opened up the small box. I let out a small gasp. Inside I saw the most beautiful necklace ever. It was 2 wolves on black with blue gem eyes and the other smaller white wolf with one green and one blue gem eyes. 

"I got this because the white wolf reminded me of you, special in every way." Ally said and tears started rolling down my cheek. Ally and Jacob enveloped me in a huge group hug. Did I say they are my best friends?

"I can not thank you two enough for this it is beautiful." I took it out the box and put it on checking it out in the mirror. I smiled at the beautiful wolves. This really is the best present I've ever gotten. 

"Ok lets finish loading up these boxes before your parents get home." 

"What movies do you guys want to watch?" I asked as we started carrying the boxes to Jacobs truck. 

"Well there is a few new horror movies on Netflix I want to watch." Ally said.

"Then scary movie night it is." Jacob yelled over his shoulder.

 We loaded Jacobs truck and headed to my temporary home. Goddess where is my mate I could really use his comfort right now. I hate this lonely feeling. Yes I have my best friends but I really could use my mates help and his love.
