Ellen POV
Throughout Juniors grade, my activities were school and part-time work. I tried to keep my distance from everyone. I also heard the students gossiping about my and Axl's relationship, which fell apart quickly.
"Ellen, aren't you going to Indianapolis?" my dad asked one Saturday morning. We were having breakfast.
"Why?" I said.
"Dad, Ellen broke up with Axl. Why would she go to Indianapolis?" Jessica interrupted as she chewed her food. She was trying to make fun of me.
I glanced at Jessica. She was smiling at me. A happy smile because me and Axl are over.
"So what, even though you've broken up, can't you have a relationship as friends? You're in the same class, right?" my dad said.
Jessica shook her head. "Ellen would look awkward."
