Not long after the dance, Crow saw Edolas walking around the room.
Crow decided to follow him, leaving Airi.
“I just need to talk to Edolas really quick.”
He walked up to Edolas, who was heading for the balcony.
“It’s a beautiful view, isn’t it?”
They gazed out at the night sky, the moon shining bright.
“Yeah it is. I need to talk to you about something though.”
Edolas turned to Crow, “what is it?”
“You watched the fight between me and Zexal, right? I’m sure you noticed the reason I won, right?”
“What’s this about?”
“I’ve been regaining my memories lately. Based on them, I’d say that you knew my mother.”
“I did… I was friends with her.”
“Why were you the one who adopted us?”
“Your mother asked me to, if anything were to happen to her.”
Crow stood still, his eyes opened wide in shock. Did she know that I’d killed her?
“Now I have a question you have to answer for me.” Edolas’ eyes were locked onto Crow’s. “The only way that you could’ve awakened your power is if you stopped wearing that necklace you picked up.”
Crow looked down, “yeah I did. Because it was keeping Airi from being able to use all of her strength.”
“Even still, you shouldn’t be able to use your power just yet. Not unless… Crow, did you come in contact with something strange?”
Crow stood still, thinking about anything strange.
“There was the time when my reflection changed.”
Edolas came closer, “what do you mean ‘changed’?”
“My skin had changed and horns had come out of my forehead.”
Edolas grabbed his arms, “what color was it?” he demanded.
“Black with red swirls.”
Edolas looked weakened, his arms drooped, his eyes showed signs of fear.
“What does it mean?”
Edolas simply smiled, “today’s not the day to worry about this. You have someone you should have fun with.” He grabbed Crow’s shoulders again, turning him a full one-eighty.
Crow came to look at a beauty in a red dress. His eyes locked onto hers, his mouth had gone dry, and his mind went blank.
“H-hey…”
Airi smiled, “I don’t know if I should keep wearing this dress if it has this kind of effect on you every time you lay eyes on me.”
“I like it… a lot.”
Airi took his hand, looking at her older brother, “I’m taking this one for another dance, if you don’t mind, of course.”
Edolas simply nodded, “go ahead, we finished our conversation anyway.”
Airi smiled and began to walk back inside, Crow still in tow.
