Prologue
It was late at night, the phone beside his bed had rung. The boy woke up and answered the phone.
“We have an assignment for you. No one else can do it.”
The boy sighed, “fine. I’ll do it.”
He got out of his bed and grabbed a change of clothes, along with some weapons he thought he would need for the assignment.
Once ready, the boy got out of his room, heading for the stairs leading down. He checked the window to see if there was a car waiting for him out there.
The car outside was black with no special features.
“Avoiding attention like usual,” the boy muttered to himself before opening the door and heading for the car.
When he got inside, the driver, a man who appeared a little older, turned to him. “Whatever did this, isn’t the typical demon we usually face. I’m thinking that it may have been a Hell-Dweller.”
He handed him a picture of the scene that had unfolded. In it were the remains of a Mitsubishi Eclipse, it appeared to have exploded, and bodies outside the car. The boy counted the amount of bodies in his head.
Four. All appear to be human. He looked at the bodies in detail. Each had a wooden stake in their chests, almost as if they were vampires. They didn’t turn to dust so they must’ve been human, but for someone to have impaled them like this...
He looked at the cloaks they wore. Each had an emblem. The emblem of the Exiles, a group full of humans who wish to hunt all demons, instead of just the ones who are actual threats.
Vampires aren’t usually this cruel when it comes to this. We also made a deal with all demonkind that they must keep members of the Exiles they find alive and report them to us Demon-Hunters.
The boy then looked at the car. It looked familiar. He then looked at the licence plate attached to the car.
That’s Crow’s! What did he do now?!
