Crow grabbed bowls and filled them with white rice on one side of the bowl and curry on the other. He placed the bowls down on the table in front of Airi, White, and an empty chair.
“Okay since this is the first time I’ve made this, feedback is mandatory. Be honest, no matter if it’s negative or positive.”
The two picked up their spoons, each nodding.
“Okay, good.”
Crow picked up his spoon, inserting it into the center of the bowl, picking up both the curry and rice. He put the spoon into his mouth and chewed…
The other two did the same.
They each swallowed.
A long silence followed.
“Damn this is good!” Crow was the first to break the silence.
“Is this really the first time you made this?” Airi questioned him.
“Yeah it is.” White answered her question in place of Crow.
They continued to eat the curry, taking bite after bite.
“I think I’ve found my new favorite food to make.” Crow spoke after cleaning his bowl.
“Yeah me too.” White replied.
“You should teach my chefs how to make this.” Airi exclaimed, clearly amazed that this was his first time making curry.
“I told you before, I can’t teach very well. I’d get nervous teaching anyone either way.” Crow spoke.
Airi smiled, “Yeah I know. I was just joking,” she kissed Crow on the cheek, “I wouldn’t want anyone else cooking this for me anyway.”
Crow smiled, “Yeah.”
He picked up everyone’s bowls and took them to the sink.
Airi looked at her phone, a text message had just come in.
She walked to Crow, “I gotta go now, so good night.” She embraced Crow from behind.
Crow stood washing the dishes, a smile drawn on his lips, “good night.” he gently patted her hand with his.
Airi went on her tippie-toes and kissed Crow on the cheek again, “There’s going to be a formal party at my place in two weeks. Be sure to buy some suitable clothes before then. And you will be dancing with me there.”
“Alright, I’ll be there,” he bent down a bit and kissed her forehead, “You can count on it.”
She smiled in response and went her way out the door.
Crow continued to wash the dishes.
Oh crap… I’ll have to dance with her… What kind of dancing? You don’t think we’ll… No, there’s no way… It’s only been two days damn it! Okay we gotta calm down.
Crow began to take deep breaths to help clear his mind. It’s just dancing with your girlfriend, nothing too hard about that.
He took one last deep breath and continued washing the dishes.
When he finished he walked up the stairs.
