Redemption and a mutual connection

1008 Words
Some hours had past and there was still nothing on the whereabouts of Ibinabo and the others. Prince Jath and Sandy had stayed put for too long that they became restless and anxious to find out what was their fate besides this prison walls. But before the whirlwind of their dilemma, Sandy had use the littlest moments of privacy which was more of an opportunity for her to break through to the prince and get to know about him but she wasn't satisfied with the little she got and this was a genuine emotion for her interest in the prince not just her alter motives to gather information that might help her escape. Although She also wanted some answers that could help link her waking up in a safe bunk of a familiar ship to waking up in a castle in a world far from reality. So she tried to push the prince to telling her about his world a bit further. After another round of yells and cries for help which yielded no results, and as no one came to their aid nor to tame them. The prince got tired and laid back against the walls, and tried to get some rest after all as it seems, they weren't going anywhere soon. He turned to notice Sandy who has been observing him quite unusually ever since.... God knows when. For some reason Sandy made him feel tensioned and awkward, so he put his face to avoid her continuous stares. But deep down he enjoyed the fact that he had her attention so he tried to keep it formal as usual. "Ibinabo has this same cut right below her eyes, did the Emperor do that to her too?" She asked. "Yes....He did that too." Moving closer to the wall to balance his head. "you must be wondering what did she do?, .. well She questioned his supremacy and insinuated he was a coward when he kept holding back attacks on the Knights of Queen Goriel who had come to deliver the Scroll of Truce. She wanted the Emperor to wedge a war but then my Father deemed it unnecessary to kill Messengers of an arch enemy to the Empire."... There was a walk down the gates of the prison cell. Both turned tentatively to see who was there and it wasn't a familiar face. One of the guards, obviously the one who had been earlier knocked out by either ibinabo or Prince Jath. He had an outstanding bruise on his fore head and a black eye to show he had a real bad beating. He didn't seem quite friendly with the fixed stare of death at prince Jath as he pushed in for them a tray with a plate of food and walked away. The prince called for his attention to demand some answers but he wouldn't turn not stop till he was out of sight. They both ignored the food and went back to sit.  Then Sandy let her curiosity off the hook once again as she asked the prince one too many questions but the prince has no problem responding to her. There was nothing else he rathe be doing nevertheless..... "Why can't Ibinabo use her powers here? It would have been easy to get pass this walls if she had used her powers.".... Sandy asked. "We cannot use our powers outside the Atlantic world, it doesn't work. Without the moon we have no control of our abilities." "Oh wow, I see. So I guess when the Eclipse comes is when you have no power even at the Atlantic world." .. Sandy asked as she remembered the words of the Emperor. " Yes. And that's when the Empire is most vulnerable to attack because of a weak defense. And Queen Goriel and her men on the other hand would never stop trying to destroy my father's legacy and take over the Atlantic Empire. It's sad to see I have finally come to be her prisoner even before the Eclipse.".... In all that the prince said, only this last reply made him talk slowly almost showing emotions of regrets. He put his veil on his face and drifted off to sleep or maybe pretended to. Sandy kept staring at him without remorse to his situation, well maybe a little but with a feeling of fulfillment. She had gained a reasonable amount of Information to process and she just had about enough time to get more. She had no problem sleeping that night. Bird chirps sounded like the birds were singing praises and early morning rhythms as it had a loud Harmony in it. The beautiful sound came from up above the window of the prison where the light of the sun shines in from. Prince Jath was the first to wake and maybe the only and that was so because there was nobody else to second him. He turned to check for Sandy but she wasn't in the cell. He heard keys shackles and feet March down the hallway and a scream for help. He sprung up and banging the the iron bars that kept him inside the cell and hit it so gruesomely that he had injured his knuckles. He turned to check where Sandy sat and found nothing helpful but her veil on the floor and beside it was he tray of food and water that was brought in last night. He took the water and gulped down a certain amount and sighed heavily. The prince was in pain and agony, not just because of Sandy being taken away but the fact that he was treated so much belittling and disrespect. In a way to calm himself he looked up and closed his eyes trying to unlock his sixth sense through meditation. The bird chips became disoriented for a while and it returned him from his focus. He opened up his eyes to see where the noise came from, and he saw a familiar bird. The Nightingale. He smirked like he just saw a saviour.
