A tooth for an Eye

Sandy wasn't sure of what she was doing laying on the floor waiting for Desmond to eventually hunt down the strange man. She stood, grabbed her sword and ran right after him. She wandered through the path she thought was where she saw the men had ran towards but she was wrong and she ended up lost and confused in the woods. Again she heard a faint sound behind her and then she turned to check but found nothing. She wasn't sure it was anything, maybe her intuitions were glitching from her anxiety untill she saw leaves scuffled and heard tacking sounds of sticks breaking further ahead. Then she was sure someone was on a loose. She picked the pace and ran towards that direction only to come to the edge of the cliff. She almost tripped off from the speed she followed up with. Her heart started pumping blood through all her arteries and she immediately crawled back into the woods towards another direction. She was tempted to scream for help but she was admonished to remain discreet as possible. She thought she felt light headed from the run and the fright she must have had being so close to an edge of clip and falling so close to it. But she felt her loin get dampened, she touched and noticed she was bleeding from a sharp cut. Sandy had sustained injuries from hiking, Mountain climbing and hunting frogs back in England but she never had so much blood gush out of her body as she felt it. She took off her veil and wrapped it over her loin binding it so tight she let out a scream in pain. The bleeding stopped but the pain was inevitable. She found it hard to keep a fast pace as she hurried out of the woods to look for Ibinabo or any one who could help her. At this point she had given up on finding Desmond. She struggled to keep herself on her feet as she felt light headed and everything started to become unclear and blurry. She felt her knees weakening at every step she took. She dropped to the ground and laid her back against a tree. "Sandy!".... Hey , hey, look at me! What happened?", Where is Desmond?".... Ibinabo found Sandy on her way back to the camp almost loosing consciousness. "There was a man, he was heading towards the camp. Desmond went after him..... I.. uh,...". She said slowly almost running short of breath. Ibinabo took out of a small bag that was on her a potion and administered it to Sandy. "You ll be fine. This man you speak of was he alone?"... Ibinabo asked as she scattered her eyes through the woods. Having heard no reply from Sandy, she turned to see if she heard her but Sandy's eyes were already closed but she was breathing. Ibinabo picked her up, drew out her sword and went towards the camp as quickly as she could. On her way she notices a pattern on the sands and the grasses were stomped on. She tries to figure out if it was from their footprints earlier on or was it Desmond and the man in question who must have did this to Sandy. Ibinabo was raged and she hurried towards the camp. She got there and all was calm and as she left it. She dropped Sandy on the ground and asked for some water. Lord Nathan knelt and offered her some of his. "What happened to her?".... "There's a man in the woods, some kind of assassin I guess. We need to find him before he does anymore harm". Ibinabo said as she made sure Sandy wasn't bleeding anymore. "You with the red hair, please look after her till we return and if anyone who is not of us approaches you, use your sword".. the girl nodded in affirmation. " The rest of you follow me, there is an enemy out there and one of us is also missing, let's go!". Just as Ibinabo and Lord Nathan prepared to head into the woods with the warriors, they were halted by Ibinabo as she could hear sounds of footsteps coming from the Southside of the woods just right beside where she stood. She called for the warriors to get in formation to fend off any attack. As the swords were risen, so was it bought to an ease when they saw it was Lord Nathan's Acolytes who were sent to take a look down the cliff. "Your Lordship, Ma'am, it's us. Please take down your swords". They convey what they saw to Lord Nathan and he communicated suite to Ibinabo. They took a moment to deliberate on what the city was about and how to get there." It seems like the man you seek must have found a way to get out of the city without using the woods because we searched everywhere and this man you speak of may be on his way back now so we need to move fast your lordship".... Just as Deliberations were going on, Ibinabo as fast as the bird flew right off her shoulders she picked up her sword and pointed to the trees beside where she stood. The warriors picked their swords and got in formation. "I know you're in there, come out and I won't hurt you. Bring whatever you have with you out here and I promise to spare you." Ibinabo said as she kept whispering to one of the warriors to take a different route so they could surround the direction she heard a noise come from. And right from the shadows came forth Desmond and a man clothed from head to toe with a knife to Desmond's throat. " I ll kill him if you make a move further. Drop your weapons and take off your veil." The man asked politely but with a knife to a throat. "Take off your veil first then we will drop our swords sire"... Lord Nathan said as he took of his veil to bring the atmosphere to a friendly negotiation.  "Lord Nathan?...." The man in Black said as he let go of Desmond and takes his veil off..... "My prince!"... Shocked and happy at the same time. Lord Nathan took a bow. Immediately the whole league of warriors went on their knees. "long live the Prince!"... They all pledged. Ibinabo went closer to confirm her sight and the prince hugged her with a smile on his face. "How did you all find me?, Where is father? Oh my God he must be so worried." Prince Jath said as he went on his knees and gave a sigh of relieve to finally be amongst his people.
