After hours of training and drills. Sandy was picked to join the Archer as she progressed and pass every level of of Archery training triumphantly. She was taught by her Grandfather, not some spirit world or a professional. No she was taught by an old man who was also best in his time. Her skills found no rival as she hit every spot accurately. She was the last to start but now the first in line. The prince was the last contender for the final stage and it was now her up against him. The final test was to aim for perfection. They were both blindfolded and asked to shoot in-between a tiny hole carved from a wood exactly the size of an arrows head. No space was allowed and at such the arrow needed to go straight and directly through the hole. The were miles apart from the wood which was hung on a tree far off. They were given seconds to stare at the Target and it's direction and then make there shots blindfolded. It was almost impossible to say anyone could do it. The prince was to go First. He missed not even slightly. But his aim was far off. Sandy was up next. She took her time breath and aimed. She let the arrow out and she also missed. But slightly. Atleast she hit the tree. Of course it was impossible to do this with a blindfold. So the blindfold was taken off and it was established that Sandy had a better aim, but now it was time to shoot without a blind fold. The test for an eagle eye was the essence. Sandy was to go first this time. She drawer... Closed up and tilted her arms ad then released. The arrow went straight to the hole but it didn't pass through it stabbed the side. But she hit the spot. The prince was up next. He didn't take too much time. He dragged to a specific force he needed, aimed and released. His arrow went through the hole and pierced the tree. He still retained himself the nest shooter but he has never had anyone come so close to beating him. The games was done and Sandy was now part of the Archery team. The prince maintained his position as the best Archer. Night came and it was now time to rest and continue a day after.   Cultural diversity was not a thing in the Empire, the people had such a solid union as they supported each other. From the capital city down to regional territories of the Atlantic, it was as if it just one. They hadn't been any news of rebellious governors and leaders who were under the Emperor. The contest last night was a long and very synchronized one, everyone, in all nooks and craniums participated. It was fair to say whoever was crowned or ordained from amongst the ones who participated was the most qualified in all of the lands.but it should be limited to the Royal guards. They were not to prove their worth by contesting for a role or crown in the army amongst regular beings, they possessed more than just skills but special abilities that supersedes the kind that is brought by training and hardwork, so it was unfair to allow this sort of people contest. Hence one could always find Ibinabo and some other fierce persons stand beside and watch a contest they could dominate. Prince Jath was a royal birthed fighter but he had no control over the supernatural except his ability to shift souls and it was of course not a condition precedent or effectual to the contest so he was deemed to be qualified to contest. It was still a great shock to see how a pure human and the least expected to say came so close to beating him for a title he had held for years. Sandy was excited and still hyper active over the memories of the night before. She was the kind who always yearned for competition of some sort. Always. Now she had all the opportunity to compete and prove herself worth of any form emoluments. She gladly took a shot at it. She and the prince had arranged a one off sword fight training a night before the contest. It was still as early as it should be if one ever wanted to be in serenity, but the birds were awake soaring the skies and chirping. The moonlight could still be said to give light to the day. The prince was already waited at the lakeside, Sandy was surprised to noticed he had already been sited and waiting for her arrival.
