Sail out

1513 Words
There is a certain theme to the Atlantic world that holds no regard for the concept of familiar feelings. Rather, every sight brings new emotions and ignites an aesthetic implode to ones mind and every time the moon comes to shine brighter in the dark hours, it gives some kind of strength to the gruesome nights and much more calm to the sea. Sandy had witnessed her first battle, stirs and sail out of the Atlantic empire. Surely she had some confusing moments but she stood her grounds as the fight was won with a significant loss on both sides. The warriors were to be remembered at the next shakuri festival. But their families were to be paid a sum and honour aggregated to them by the imperial council. The Emperor must be worried sick by now having not heard from neither his chief physician, his chief guard and his Son of course. So Lord Nathan spent the rest of the night at the sea in his chambers with a feather and ink, scribbling down words of update to the situation to the Throne. It was his moral obligation to think for the crew and his duty to improvise when there was a situation that had to be resolved. After sealing his notes with a candle wax. He then remembered Sandra and her contributions to their immense victory. "Quite a brain and such a brave person"... He said to himself. He leaned down and took cup of ale as he thought of the possibilities he could make available for her if she were to show him a few things from her world that was lacking in this world. Lord Nathan and maybe all Atlantians may think Sandy came from the outskirts of the Sea and had no business with contributions to the leadership and governance of the Empire but he saw that she was good and a potential threat to his ambitions too. Lord Nathan wasn't the type to usurp a reigning king but he was the type to serve at all his best to get recommended to rule next. There was a knock on the door to his chambers and prince Jath walked in with a smile on his face and a bottle of ale in his hands he welcomed him. Took forward the letter he had for his father the Emperor and told him to give it to the messenger to attach it to one of his birds and deliver it. "He didn't make it, only his birds survived.".... Prince Jath reminded him of the losses the had accounted for and the messenger was one of them. The messenger was the man who could lured his birds to deliver notes all the way to the Atlantic from wherever they were. But he was caught in the battle and he was gutted by one of the guards. His birds were in the ship and Ibinabo had decided they were all going to be released as a ritual to see that his soul was taken to rest above. "Well, in that case it seems your father won't be hearing from you till we land on the shores of the Empire." ...Him and Jath had a stare off before he took the letter out of Lord Nathan's chambers and sent one if the guards who stood watch at the Chambers door to bring forth the white bird to deliver the letter to the Empire. It wasn't really a good atmosphere after the victory. Everyone had a thing or two to have regrets over especially the prince. He went back to his chambers and laid himself to rest after he had strapped the letter to the bird and sent it off. He watched the bird flap it's wings out of his window leaving feathers on the floor of his cabin. He kept on staring till he had no sight of it anymore which was strange because it was just some miles away. He moved towards his windows and stared out to see of they had reached the borders as the ship started vibrating. He saw the end of the waters, closed his windows and went right back to his bed and laid. Meanwhile, up the main deck of the outer part of the ship, Ibinabo and Sandy were having a discussion on the point of having to sail through worlds to maintain ties. Ibinabo explained to her that the Pacific world was once ruled by the Emperor and he controlled the territories a d forces of the water but when he and his wife the Queen Goriel went sideways she went against him and took over the paths that lead to the Pacific using her powers she stole the sun's spirit and went to the Pacific. She harness the power of the sun and works thereof but she cannot cross the Atlantic lest she dies as long as the moon remains with us. "For years now, it has been peaceful co existing with the Pacific people without Trespass. The only time we had foreigners come to our land it through portal travel just like you did or when there is a message to deliver like the scroll of unity. The scroll is served to us every end of a new moon to assert if peaceful coexistence still remains.... The scroll we received was a red scroll. And that means a break in ties. The Emperor sent his son to maintain boundaries but it seems like he had gone as far as the waters allowed him and the people of the Pacific called for it a trespasser. Now we have only made things worst."....  Sandy tried to process all that she just heard but she was far more interested in her arrival here. "What's a portal travel?"... "You said I got here through a portal travel"... Sandy asked. "You possessed a necklace. It carries the power of the ancient moon stone. It draws your spirit to our world and manifests your entirety here. As long as you possessed it you have been chosen to come to this world.".. ibinabo explained. Sandy remembered the necklace. She tried to recall where she kept it but it seemed it skipped her memories. She remembers the light that glowed from it and how similar it was to the light that came from Ibinabo eyes when she expressed her powers, the Emperor's staff at the county hills and the also the Prince's eye. She tried to make sense of it all but it still seemed like she was left out on a detail.  "We have reached the borders"... The captain who now steer the wheels yelled. He yelled in preparation of the transport from the Pacific to the Atlantic. Sandy was advised to brave herself to something as they were about to witness some turbulence. Immediately there was a white flash of light across the skies and the ship felt like it fell deeper into the water but it was still sailing. Sandy opened her eyes and noticed the breath of fresh Atlantic sir that hit her nostrils. She looked around and saw how blue the waters were. She looked up and saw the moon shinning bright and the sun standing guard. Together the light up the sea. A bird chip bright her attention to Ibinabo who was still right beside her. She noticed the Nightingale from the Pacific was now on her shoulders. "You brought it?"... Sandy said with a smile. Ibinabo took it to her arms and rub it's head. "Yes". She replied. The sail from here on was going to be a smooth one. As all was back to normal. Was it?. There was a need for food. Fresh food. Ibinabo tied a rope to a spear and threw it onto the river with great force. It hit a big fish and she dragged it back to the ship with a rope. While the warriors made fire in preparation to dine. Sandy went back to the cabin room where they all laid to relax her head, as she walked past the first room she noticed Lord Nathan in a chair with a cup in his hands deep asleep. She walked past him and opened the second door where Desmond laid in recovery and one of the female warriors, the redhead, was keeping watch on him. She walked past them as she kept staring at Sandy as she waved and walked through to the cabin room. She took off totally her veil and took some of the clothings off her and then got on a bunk bed. She knew no one of the warriors actually liked her. She felt undeserving and unworthy of the attention she got from the empire. But she had to do what she had to do to survive and that was what she knew how to do best. Listening to the other warriors who laid some meters from her talk about the moonlight games that happened at the Empire she graced herself to sleep hoping to wake up on land but the time she wakes
