Bela's POV The air was cold, heavy with dust, as if the old building itself held its breath. Something had shifted in the chamber here in the Crimson Petals pack's estate. I glanced at Lilet, her eyes narrowed with the same wariness that coiled in my gut. We were here to find our mother. As we go up to the staircase, a faint sound echoed through the corridor - a soft, almost imperceptible noise that tugged at the edges of my senses. It was like footsteps, light and hurried, fading around the corner. I hesitated, my fingers tightening around the railing. "Did you hear that?" I whispered, my voice barely above a breath.
