“What a great team we got here.” Eryx said. His face showed bliss upon seeing the group we made. I could only force a smile to him.
“We got Deven, plus Mira… what a great tag duo we got here!” Torry bounced in glee.
“That would only be possible if the two of them could get along at all.” Kova chuckled.
Torry and Eryx’s eyebrows crossed. I just rolled my eyes on Kova. In return, Kova just beamed at me. I know he’s really teasing me to the core. I can’t really believe this; do they really want me to get into trouble?
“Why? Are these two mortal enemies? I haven’t heard about that really…” Torry crossed her arms.
“Me too… I didn’t really expect that there’s single woman out there who doesn’t want to be with Deven…” Eryx chuckled.
“Quit all your chatters there, let’s just listen to our teacher’s instruction.” Deven’s voice was still filled with coldness and seemingly bored.
I was really surprised when he started talking. I thought he wasn’t even listening to us at all. Well, he’s right so, we piped down and listened to our instructor.
“Okay, it seems that you have your own groups now. I will now be assigning the instructors who will handle each group, so please listen carefully…”
Our teacher started to assign each group to every instructor in the school. Each group had two instructors assigned to guide them in every task they’d tackle from now on. And we got Miss Gomez and Mr. Ramirez himself assigned to our group.
Talk about bad stroke of luck, to think our group had those two in our crew, not a good day to be in school really. Well, I got no problems with their teaching styles or if they’re scary, but those two doesn’t go along with each other well. I seriously don’t know if they’d be watching our group, or if we should be watching them?
“Hello guys!” Mr. Ramirez waved to us.
“Hello sir,” we answered in unison.
“I hope we’ll get along guys.” Ms. Gomez beamed at us.
Uh… That’s what I’m really worried about here. There’s too many out of place in this group really. I’m not even sure how we’ll survive this or function properly as a group. I could only smile awkwardly to her.
“You know what? This team will be a lot more fun if you won’t get super strict here, Tanya.” Mr. Ramirez said.
“Just shut up Dart. You’re the one I worry about here. You’ll be the bad influence to these students here.” Ms. Gomez scoffed.
And there, what I worried about so much happened now instantly. Miss Tanya Gomez and Mr. Dart Ramirez don’t really get along well at the moment.
Sir Dart cleared his throat first. “Shall we proceed now to your first mission?”
“Yes sir!” We answered.
“Alright then, let’s get going.” Maam Tanya motioned to us to follow them.
We all just followed the two of them, towards wherever we were heading. We got in to Sir Dart’s car and travelled to wherever our mission would be. Well, the travel took a bit longer than I expected and I fell asleep while we’re on the way. I just suddenly noticed that there’s something atop my head, like there’s something resting there.
I slowly peeled my eyes wide, and I realized I was leaning on someone’s shoulder. His shoulder to be exact. And he gently leaned his head atop my head as well.
Okay, what the hell happened?
I suddenly sat properly straight, waking up the person beside me as well. He stared at me for a couple of minutes and crossed his eyebrows as well. I could only divert my eyes and leaned closer to the car’s window.
“We’re here guys…” Maam Tanya announced.
The both of us looked straight ahead to Maam Tanya. I totally forgot that the two of us sat beside each other inside Sir Dart’s car, while those three sat on the back part of the car. Sir Dart parked the car and I felt that the car’s engine stopped. Our instructors went out first and we followed them.
“What would be our first mission, maam?” Torry asked.
“Wait… before we start all of this, let’s just change what you call to me okay?” Maam Tanya stopped.
“What would you like for us to call you now, Maam?” Eryx asked.
She paused for a minute first and thought about it. “Uh… Miss Tanya would be fine by me.”
“But why would that be?” Torry asked.
“It’s just I feel so old hearing that name from you, and that’s too formal for me.” Miss Tanya replied.
Sir Dart sighed. “Well, look… she just wants to feel so young. She’s still wishing she might meet a handsome man out here–gaaah!”
And he suddenly went flying away to the skies, as Miss Tanya punched him with all her might.
“You can just ignore that stupid man now. And yeah, please call me that way from now on.” Miss Tanya smiled, while her fists were still smoking hot.
“Wait? Did anyone see where Deven went?” Eryx darted his eyes all around.
I looked around as well, and realized Deven’s missing really. And where would he go in this place? We started to move forward and tried finding where Deven could be now. Seriously, what’s this? It feels like were all looking for a lost kid.
“Miss Tanya, we would really want to know now what our mission is.” Kova brought up the question again.
“Well, a lot of people told us that there’s a monster wandering around this place and started wreaking havoc around here. The monster was described as a big furry creature, with two heads. It’s like a big wolf with two heads as what they say.” Miss Tanya replied.
“And where can we find this monster?” I asked.
“That’s where you all will start. You need to find out where it is now, before it’ll start destroying towns again.” Sir Dart replied, looking at a map of the area.
“So, in short… we’re all on our own here?” Torry asked.
“Of course, we’re just here to assist you and protect you if the situation gets out of hand. But you need to do the mission by yourself. After all, we teachers were here to watch you how you handle the mission yourselves.” Miss Tanya smiled.
We all fell silent for a moment. This was actually it. The moment where we try battles in the field in actual.
“You don’t need to worry really, just like what Tanya said, if the situation gets out of hand, we will protect you from actual dangers. So, focus on getting the mission done.” Sir Dart said.
We only asked where we could find the Viscount who leads this town. They were so kind to tell us the home of the town’s Viscount and so we immediately head there to ask for his knowledge about the monster lurking around the edges of his town.
Upon reaching there and entering the Viscount’s mansion, we were surprised seeing somebody familiar already sitting on the sofa comfortably. Well, who else would it be? It’s just Deven himself.
“You all took so long to get here.” Deven scoffed.
“You’re too fast that you actually forgot you have teammates.” I replied.
He just hissed at me. What a real brat we got here. We walked towards his direction and sat on the seats as well. The viscount and his wife were sitting in front of us.
“I am pleased to know that you’re here to help us in our predicament.” The viscount smiled.
“It’s our honor to help you, Viscount.” Sir Dart replied.
“We would like to skip all the idle talk and ask you about our objective here. We would like to ask what you know about the monster causing trouble in your town.” Ms. Tanya asked.
The Viscount gladly narrated all what he knew about the monster we were looking for. He described all the features and whatever information he knew about it. He also mentioned where the monster last appeared. As they were narrating what they knew, it was obvious in their facial expressions that they were terrified on this uninvited guest of their town.
“Don’t worry Viscount, we will do what we can to deal with the monster causing you trouble here.” Sir Dart reassured and stood up.
“You have my thanks, mister.” The Viscountess beamed.
“If I am not meddling so much in your plans, but where do you plan on staying in this town?” The Viscount asked.
“We’ll still figure it out…”
“Then, if that’s the case, you are welcome to rest here for the day and eat something, maybe you’re tired and hungry from the long trip. Allow me to take care of you while you’re here.” The Viscount offered.
“Re-really–?”
Sir Dart couldn’t continue what he was about to say as Ms. Tanya sealed his mouth with her palm and pushed down to the sofa. Well, they’re seated beside each other.
“We’ll be fine sir… we won’t be staying so long after all. And we need to investigate further about this matter and track this monster as soon as possible.” Ms. Tanya bowed.
“Will you all be alright?” The Viscountess asked.
“Yes ma’am, we sincerely thank you for your kind offer. But we really have to go.” Ms. Tanya replied.
“Very well then, I see… we cannot bother you any longer.” The Viscount stood up. “But allow me to thank you…” He lowered his head together with his wife. “Thank you very much for helping our town.”
We all stood up and bowed as well. After bidding farewell, we headed out of the Viscount’s mansion. We proceeded to find an inn where we can sleep in, and can house all seven of us. Thank goodness, there’s an inn that had a large room with seven beds.
“Hmm… who wants to hang out and wander around the town while looking for new information about the monster? Maybe, we can find locations where the monster would possibly stay.” Kova stood up.
“Let me join you!” Torry shot up from her seat.
“Alright! You can.”
“That sounds good. Let me tag along with you two.” Ms. Tanya said.
“Me and Eryx will go on the other side of the town and look for information there.” Sir Dart suggested.
Wa-wait? What about me? Who would I accompany with? Why am I suddenly left out here?
“Mira, what will you do both?” Torry asked.
“Both?”
“Of course, with Deven…” Eryx said.
“And of course, I don’t have any plans on going with that guy. I will just go alone.”
“I am against about the idea of you going alone Mira, we don’t know what happens. Maybe that monster would suddenly appear. It’s good to have a companion at such sudden times.” Sir Dart replied.
“But, look sir… I can handle myself. And I am not that stupid to clash head on that monster alone if it appears!”
“Weak…” Deven whispered.
I pierced him with my gaze. And of course, he just shrugged it off.
“It’s final… You two would go together. That’s an order.” Ms. Tanya commanded.
