Chapter 53
I hardly listened to a word anyone said for the rest of the meeting. Gala was sitting next to me and took notice. She leaned towards me and whispered “You seem tired. Perhaps you should go rest a while.” I nodded at her and gave her a weak smile. When it was time for a break I told Halvor that I would go rest for a while. “Are you feeling alright? You look a little pale” Halvor replied. I nodded. “Yes, I’m just feeling a little overwhelmed I think.” The concern vanished from Halvor’s face and he nodded, knowing that this was my first war. He kissed my forehead and I left the study. As I walked outside I realized that it was almost time to meet Ann and Diana for tea. I made my way outside and the fresh air felt good, although it did little to settle my stomach. When I arriv
