Augustine’s POV
My plane touched down in international airport, my fingers slid across the tablet I was holding, I let out a sigh, I had only just returned to New York and my day was packed with meeting. I did not think I will be able to go home until late at night. My mum and August will be furious but it could not be helped.
I alighted from the plane and my Secretary Jenner was right behind me.
“Will you be dropping by the house or will it be straight to the office Sir?” She asked.
“Straight to the office I am afraid” I said as I slipped on my sun shades.
“Yes Sir” I heard Jenner say from behind me.
I walked to my shiny black Mercedes which my driver Jenner was holding open for me.
“Welcome back Sir, how was your trip?” James said.
“Thank you James, my trip was quite pleasant” I said as I got into my car. Jenner got into the front seat and soon enough, we were on our way to the office.
I am Augustine Reeds, I am the CEO of the Reeds Empire, I took over the CEO position when my father passed away after suffering from cancer for many years, I am 28 years old and I believe it is said that I am the youngest CEO in the whole of New York City.
My company produce basically everything from health care products, to construction and electronics. My sister August managed the fashion and skincare part of the business.
My mother had retired and now she was simply enjoying the life, she enjoyed shopping and going on luxury trips all around the world.
I had always seen interested in the family business, my father had taught me everything I knew and I will do well to put it to good use.
I was referred to as the kings of CEOs, I did my business ruthlessly. I asked for the best and only gave the best.
In return, I had no patience for lazy employees, if you were not productive to me, I had no reason to keep you. The job market always open and there was always new people looking to be hired.
We pulled up in front of my company and in a matter of seconds, Jeremy was out the door and soon enough, he was holding my door open for me.
I stepped out and straightened my designer Dior suit, I walked into the building, everyone greeted me as I walked to my private elevator, once Jenner and I were inside, I pulled out my which was ringing in my trouser pocket. I looked at the caller ID and it was August, I groaned knowing she calling just to nag me.
“Hello sister” I said once I picked the call.
“I can’t believe you went straight to the office immediately you arrived, like who the hell does that?” She said to me.
“Well me apparently” I said.
“Well I don’t care how busy you are, be home in time for dinner or else you are sleeping outside tonight” she said and then the line went dead.
I exhaled heavily and said to Jenner “Jenner I need to cancel every meeting after 6 o’clock, I need to be home in time for dinner”.
“Yes Sir, I will do that right away” she said and began pressing and sliding screen of the tablet in her hand.
I like Jenner, she was good at her job and was very efficient, we had worked together for 5 years now and I had no reason to complain.
We finally got the top floor where my office was located, we stepped out of the elevator and I headed to my office while Jenner went ahead to settle at her desk.
The moment I opened the door and stepped in, I noticed there was someone who was not to be in my office.
“Well fancy seeing you here” Charles said to me as he waved me from where he was relaxing on my sofa.
“This is my office remember” I said as I shut the door behind me and went straight to my desk.
“I thought you will probably be home right now but here you are” Charles said.
“And what exactly are you doing in my office if I might ask”, I said as I switched on my desktop.
“I needed peace and quiet and I sure as hell want going to find it in my office so here I am” Charles said casually like it was completely okay for him to louge around in my office.
“Well you leave now because I have a meeting in the next 30 minutes” I said.
“Always grumpy old bear, we haven’t seen each other in about five days and the next you do after seeing me is to send me out of your office, that’s not very friendly if you ask me” he said as he crossed his legs and placed his hand on the head of sofa looking relaxed.
“What exactly do you want Charlie?” I asked abandoning what I was doing on the computer because I knew Charles, he will not leave until he got the attention he sought.
“Rather simple, tell me how your trip was, I need to hear something exciting because I am bored out of my mind” he said.
My mind suddenly flashed back to cast night and the young woman who had suddenly barged into my hotel room, I had no idea who she was and why she was there in the first place but there was something about her I couldn’t resist, the moment she had pushed me into the room and smiled at me in that manner, all caution was out the window and all I knew was that I wanted her in a way I had never wanted any woman in my entire life and when she had kissed me, I knew there was no going back.
I always had a thing for red heads but the woman from yesterday completely blew my mind, she was beautiful and when I had kissed her, she had tasted like wine.
I had it wanted to live her just like that this morning, I didn’t know who she was and where she came from, I had let her sleep and when I was leaving I had placed a wad of cash on the side drawer, I was sure I will never see her again.
“Well let’s just say it turned out to be something completely unexpected” I said with a smile as I remembered how inexperienced her kisses had been but for some reason, they drove me crazy and over the edge.
“Well you are gonna have to give me more than that, don’t you think?” Charles said.
I chuckled and said “not right now, I will tell you all about it later but for now, you need to get out, I have work to do”.
Charles rolled his eyes and stood up “Yeah sure, I doubt you will tell me anything but I have to leave as well, I also have a meeting soon, I will see you later” he said and was out the door before I could even reply.
My mind wondered off once more, for some reason, I could not get her out of my mind, I knew I should stop thinking about her, she was someone I will never see again.
With that thought in mind, I forced my attention back to my computer screen and focused on my work.
