ETHAN'S POV

Why did I say that?

For one or the other, I felt the urge to see her again once my secretary told me that she was on the news.

I never thought that I'd see her again until now and I must say, she is better than expected. Perhaps, I had thought she would live miserable life after she had left me because I have given her nothing, but it seemed like her smartness eventually came into full view.

My life had gone downhill after she has left me, at first things were unbelievably sweet and pleasurable with Vanessa. To my taste, Vanessa was the best woman any man could ask for. However, I tried to look for Nora and Vanessa found out, she was furious with me and she wouldn't even let me defend myself.

""I can't believe you're still obsessed with that wretch, Ethan! After everything I’ve done for you, everything we’ve been through, and you’re still stuck on her? It’s pathetic! She walked away, left you behind, and you’re still pining for her like some lovesick fool. Do you even know where she is now? She’s probably in another rich man’s house, f*****g him, without a care in the world.

The only thing, I could do was beg until I was tired but she wouldn't still accept my apology.

"I'm sorry, but I only wanted to make sure that she was fine."

"Why do you care? Why should you? She walked away from your life!"

"I.....I still have feeli-"

"Don't you f*****g finish that sentence! You are not thinking straight. She left you, Ethan." Vanessa said to me wrapping my arms around my neck and she looked up at me.

"She's not good enough for you, don't you see that darling? She's probably w*****g herself to another man, she would probably have forgotten about you by now."

Her words sent my blood boiling, how could she just forget about me just like that? The fact that she could be in another man's arms made me want to her find immediately, but my ego wanted me to let go of her. If she thought that, she would be able to find another man like me.

"Why would you be thinking of her? When I am right here with you. Do you want me to leave?"

I was confused when, Vanessa was the one who revealed that Nora had been cheating on me and when Nora got pregnant, a miscarriage happened and she couldn't get pregnant. I was so angry that Nora lied to me and acted like it was my fault that she couldn't get pregnant.

But Vanessa revealed everything to me with evidence, I couldn't believe at first but I confirmed it when I told Nora, that my late-night meetings and my work schedule had increased.

She didn't complain to me one bit, that was when I knew that she was cheating on me. During these troubled times, Vanessa was there to comfort me.

There was no reason for me to go back to Nora now, I cupped Vanessa's face in my palm and stared into her eyes.

"There is no need to think about her anymore, she made her choice. So, I don't want you to feel that way. Okay?"

She nodded her head and she brought my face for a kiss, who was I kidding? Nora couldn't never give me what I wanted, after she was barren and it was her fault, after the long list of men that she had slept. There was no reason for me to suffer, what she did?

I should focus on Vanessa now and make a lot of children.

We made love a lot of times and after one month of our marriage, she was pregnant. I was so happy with the news, when I heard that it was a boy.

Who would have thought I would be able to father a child as soon as Nora left my life? it was enough consolation for what happened to Nora.

Although, that was the only good part of my relationship with Nora. After the month, she became extremely obnoxious, rude and unbearable.

Of course, there were times when she would return back to her normal self but things were never the same for us because she would constantly how lucky I was to meet her and reveal that Nora was cheating on me.

We have had two boys in the past years, but it had been very difficult for me to say that they were mine. Firstly, they looked nothing like me and they behaved and performed badly in school. Their attitudes were nothing likable and lastly, I couldn't even present them to parents or pick an heir because their mother taught them wrongly.

This was far from the plan, I had for myself. I wanted a model family and what I got was the exact opposite of it.

Meeting my ex-wife again brought back old memories for me, and my reason or the other. I was glad that she came back. For years, I have searched for her without the knowledge of Vanessa. It turns out that she had been out of the states, she always said she wanted to go on holidays to Canada with me.

So, that was where you were darling.

I had assumed that she was mooching off men to make her wealth, but looking at her in the face sent a different message. She didn't look like the type to take advantage of other for success, even me. Even though, she hated me. It was enough proof that despite our divorce, she still couldn't bring herself to hate me. I hoped.

I needed to convince her to attend the auction with me, I feel the need to talk to her and if not about anything, then to apologize for everything and maybe we could get along with each other. it was going to be difficult but I had no choice.

I got into my car and drove straight to her office, the next morning after I received a message from my assistant that she was in the office. It was good thing that my assistant, Harry was good with the ladies and quickly befriended Anna, Nora's employee.

However, as I drove to her office, I saw her car stopping in front of her office and a young Eva got out.

"Mommy!"

The boy jumped at her as she carried him up and just then, she caught sight of me and we both froze up.

"Yo-you're married?"
