The missing staff and magic flute
Ekute an elder in the palace exclaimed, ah ! the worst has happened , what are we going to do now ? hmm the seer sighed and said I will go now and consult the gods for an answer to this mystery .
immediately the seer went to the mountain of the gods , reaching the mountain the gods appeared to him and said , are you hear oh great seer to enquire of us the sorrow that befall your kingdom ?
for we know the staff and the flute are missing including the body of the king . now go the gods continue speaking and tell the people of zakuma that they should go and sort for the one that bear our mark .
the seer replied I will go and do as you said oh gods of our land . the seer immediately hastened his feet back to the palace . and narrated exactly as he was told by the gods to the king makers of the kingdom and when they had this they became less worried because the gods have spoken and have given directives.
Lizata One among the king makers said we will do as the gods demanded after the mourning period of our late king the great awura. Then both the king makers and the elders went home.
After the mourning period the elders all gathered , including the king makers outside the palace and assembled all the sons of the late king before the entire people of the kingdom . Then lakusa , the most senior official in the kingdom narrated the exact words of the gods to the people .
After that he said now I will commence the searching process among the princes of the kingdom to find out who has the mark of the gods among them but to his surprise non among the princes had the mark after searching them.
Lakusa in the state of confusion said non among the princes had the mark of the gods . Ahhh.... the people shouted , then the people began to murmur among themselves saying what are we going to do now , the staff is missing the magical flute is missing who will save us now and also we will have no king without the staff and flute . our enemies will destroy and enslave our remnants the people said.
then the seer stood up among the people and told the official and elders of the kingdom and said I shall return to the mountain of the gods and report to them the situation on ground .
while the seer was preparing to visit the mountain in three days, the neighbouring kingdom sent a later to the top officials of the kingdom of zakuma , asking them to surrender and become their subject .
lakusa took the news to the seer of the kingdom wei...the seer shouted when he had the news instantly the seer rushed to the mountain in other to report the matters to the gods and enquire for solution. but the gods where silent to him, and he stayed there for two days. while the officials waited for his return.
one night the gods gave the seer a vision .
then the seer quickly made a sacrifice to thank the gods, and returned to the palace to meet the officials and elders of the kingdom.
On reaching the palace, the seer entered and all the official were glad when they saw him in expectation of good news.
then the seer stood among the officials and revealed to them the vision he had by the gods , he said to them , now listen to my vision , while I was asleep I saw an old man , he called me by name and said to me , non among the sons of the king you know which are in the palace are worthy of the staff of leadership . then I asked the old man said the seer what shall we do old man to save the throne and the kingdom of zakuma, hmmm the old man sighed and said , there is a deep secret the king had before he died .
what could be the secret the seer said to the old man ?
hmmm the old man sighed again and said in other to know this secret you must locate the magic flute and summon the spirit of the death king by playing it for, he has the answers you seek . where can we locate the flute I asked, said the to the old man.
then the old man responded don't bother looking for the flute it will reveal it self when needed . For the kingdom to remain protected before the this mystery unravel you must seek the counsel of the good spirits for protection, in other to buy time .
hmmm I sighed said the seer and said to the old man but who are you ? I am one among the gods of your kingdom now rise and go back to your people and do what is necessary said the old man to me as the seer narrate the vision to the officials.
Immediately I woke up and made a sacrifice to the gods, in appreciation of the vision they gave me and hasten my feet to the palace to narrate the vision to all of you , said the seer to the officials and elders of the kingdom.
then lakusa as the most senior among the officials stood and said we all have heard what is said by our seer what shall we do? he asked . then azura one among the officials in the palace suggested saying the gods have spoken. let's go by their advice and first plan for the security and protection of the land , by seeking the counsel of the good spirits. so they all agreed and send lakuma and the seer to the cave where the good spirits dwell on behalf of the rest of the officials and elders.
